India Pakistan tensions

India Pakistan tensions
News Kashmir Exclusive
India and Pakistan tensions are still in escalation mode, With India targeting terror camps and Pakistan capturing Indian pilot during downing of Indian aircraft the tensions between these two important countries touched heights. With Pakistan Prime Minister declaring that Indian pilot would be released as a gesture of peace the tensions eased a bit .
But on the holistic paradigm, the India Pakistan relations have touched a new dangerous lows and situation looks heading from bad to worse. The powerful nations of the world from USA to China, Saudi Arabia to France are in top gear efforts trying to mediate the worsening situation and urging both nations for restraint.
Mushtaq ul Haq Ahmad Sikander, an eminent political analyst stated :

“India and Pakistan bear the burden of British and subsequent partition legacy in the form of Kashmir Dispute. Both the countries never had the strong political will to resolve the dispute. Kashmir is the victim of apathy of these two nations. It continues to bleed both of them. The current escalation of tensions among the two countries is again a manifestation of the fact that Kashmir dispute has the potential to flare a war between the two sovereign nations. We as Kashmiris have always been opposing the violence and war, as we are aware and experience the tragedies of violence in our daily lives through a low intensity war that has been imposed on us. We shoulder coffins of our youth daily, our mothers mourn the loss of their sons daily and our families bear the brunt of state and non state violence regularly. We as Kashmiris will never intend that India and Pakistan witness the same loss of lives, property, dignity and honor in case of a war. In the contemporary world there are no winners or Heroes of War. Let pragmatism and peace prevail with the resolution of Kashmir Dispute. “
On the otherhand, Three service representatives of the nation gathered at the heart of Delhi on Thursday evening to spell out the armed forces’ position on the escalation of tension with Pakistan and yesterday’s dogfight with its Air Force. Pakistan, they said, had escalated matters by targeting military installations in response to the Indian Air Force strike on a terror camp.
The officers had come with evidence — wreckage of missiles the Pakistani F-16s had used against the IAF jets that confronted them. The jagged, bent piece of metal, they said, was the casing of a missile that had gone wide and fell in the east of Rajouri.
Undoubtedly the India and Pakistan tensions are on sky high and saner voices need to prevail to ease the situation and achieve long lasting peace.

“India and Pakistan should Stop Jingoism “.. .

Where the falling of blood is Monotonous. A stalemate known as Kashmir.
Every morning, I wake up with the news of bloodshed. I feel my body desperate to know whether I’m still alive. The presupposition here is that humanity’s real sin is the violence that leads to death. At least 49 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) paramilitary troopers were killed in the deadliest terror attack witnessed in three decades of Kashmir’s insurgency. The heinous incident has united all political parties across the country while leaders from all over the world have condemned
the dastardly attack; the United States even went on to the extent of warning Pakistan to not harbor terrorism.
At present, the security forces in the Valley are on high alert and subsequent operations have been launched to detain more suspects in connection with the attack. While Pakistan has denied any role in the attack, India has sent a stern warning to its neighbour while United States warned the nation to eradicate safe havens for terrorists.
Many other countries have also condemned the dastardly incident that has left more than 40 families in anguish.
The aftermath is now another serious and dangerous for kashmiris. Instead of rectification India and Pakistan is now more busy with to activate their defense system for waging the war. Is this called Solution not at all.
Almost all kashmiri students enrolled in Indian colleges and universities are persistently being beaten by Indians hence violation has been growing more and more the police is now escorting the students to their hostel where four of their men patrolled outside for the entire night.
The people of Jammu division using different posters upfront of their shops with tagline of epithet i. e Dogs are allowed but not kashmiris. Morever The constitutional head of Meghlaya created another controversy by supporting the call of boycott of kashmir and kashmiris. The governor as per Indian constitution acted as constitutional authority has the duty to uphold equality and fraternity of India. But Alas! he violated the true spirit and theme of constitution . I must say that this process is called sprinkling salt on the burns which has further tendency to create more and more chaos and violence in kashmir.

Several Kashmiri sophomores, migrants, traders and professionals from many northern states particularly Uttarakhand, Jammu,Bhopal and Haryana, have had to pack up and leave. Colleges
and institutions, threatened by mob, rusticated and suspended many students and professionals with commitment of not admitting Kashmiri students in future particularly in Dehradun.
The mob had members of Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad,
ABVP and students’ unions.
Many Kashmiri students were booked for posting anti-national comments on social media
and many others were rusticated just because other college students demanded so. Several students in Ambala andJammu were forced out of their rented accommodations. Mobs in Bihar, West Bengal and other states targeted and beaten up the Kashmiri traders. There is a series of non-stop abuses hurling over Kashmiri people and Pakistan on social media by a group of people who demand for revenge and an open war.
Most of the news anchors are constantly arguing to return the same fate for Pakistan. The hatred and bigotry has been shown to that extent that a senior Professor demanded to ‘execute’ 40 Kashmiris as a revenge of Lethpora attack.
Meghalaya governor tweeted suggesting to boycott everything
Kashmiri, even the Amarnath yatra for two years. Apart from these, people questioning the government for the security lapses which was the main cause of the deadly attack on CRPF convoy, are also being targeted and sacked along with those who sympathized and expressed their solidarity with
Kashmiris facing the discrimination and trolls. They are equally considered as anti nationals by the hate mongers.

India has strongly claimed the involvement of Pakistan in this attack as JeM is based in Pakistan and warned it for a befitting reply. In response to the allegations, Pakistan’s Prime
Minister has denied Pakistan’s role in the attack and stated that the country would retaliate if India declares a war but it would be unfortunate for the both countries. He further offered for a bilateral dialogue on terrorism, stating that Pakistan is thenerve center of terrorism. India has rejected both his response
and offer so far and rejected Pakistan’s allegation that India’s response to the terrorist attack is determined by the forthcoming General Election.
Meanwhile PM Narendra Modi ensured not to miss rallies in India, he made his two-day trip to South Korea and also welcomed Saudi crown prince, who announced investment of $20 billion to Pakistan during his Islamabad visit and also praised Pakistan’s anti-terror efforts for maintaining peace.
The UN chief Antonio Guterres has urgently appealed to the government of both countries to
exercise the maximum restraint to stop the situation from further deterioration, adding that it is essential that there must be accountability under international law and the perpetrators
of terror acts be brought swiftly to justice.
While the whole nation is grieving over the killing of army personnel, there are much more additional things for the Kashmiris to grieve over. The way they faced the hatred and
have been hounded up by the mob, it has further weakened their trust in India for their safety and well being in future.
Students are clueless as to what to follow next and are in
doubt whether they would be taken back in the universities or not. This would be a mass educational disaster in India.
Traders, being harassed and pushed to leave, are forced to go back to Kashmir. The people in Kashmir including locals and non-locals from every community staged protest against the
atrocities carried out on Kashmiris outside the state.
Responding to this all, J&K government raised the issue of safety of Kashmiri students in an all-party meeting on the matter on February 16, after which the Home Ministry issued
an advisory nationwide to ensure safety and security of students and people from Kashmir. Kashmiris showed their gratitude and love for the Sikh community who helped and saved them from the mob violence, a sensible humane act which is expected from every sensible citizen of India.
Clearly the Lethpora attack has divided India into three groups: one who is demanding for the revenge in many forms including declaration of war against Pakistan, hounding Kashmiri people and boycotting everything that is Kashmiri.
They clearly don’t care if more soldiers sacrifice their lives neither they care Kashmir being more alienated from rest of the India. Communal harmony is not their preference indeed.
Second is who demand for the democratic solution avoiding the war and condemning the terror attack on convoy and mob violence against Kashmiris equally. The first group immediately declares the second group as anti-national. The third group comprises of those who choose or pretend to
remain unaware, thinking it’s a “sensitive” issue. Communal
harmony is already on stake in India.
The statement of reality is that whatever is happening persistently on the paradise of the earth (kashmir) and kashmiris only the impeccable civilians are at the persistent loss. The perception of every kashmiri is that Where is UNO ,where is Veto power. Yes This is only a theory and mentioned only in books for students reading purpose nothing else than that. Since How long Kashmir will resist such brutal things. Aren’t we humans. Dear Indian Government Try to understand the worth of peace and Non violence and Apply this mantra or syrup for better situation .
At last but not least please do not forget the phrase violence begets violence and hate begets hate .This needs to be stopped to avoid any further damage. Maintaining amicable relationships during crisis should be country’s or Govt’s agenda. Stop it here before it reaches point of No Return.

Peace is not made at the council table or by treaties, but in the hearts of men.

Salute to Sikh Community, Khalsa Aid

Salute to Sikh community
RAMEEZ MAKHDOOMI

Amid the heartrending scenes of wars in Middle East from Iraq, Syria to Yemen and Libya and Rohingya carnage by Burmese authorities to the pain of Kashmir one has seen humanity getting butchered to core in recent times, leaving this world nearly a meaningless place to exist.
In the ongoing upheaval since past few days Kashmiris are facing threatened but one community that has healed humanity is Sikhs , From discounts to free coaching and medical treatment offers, Kashmiri Muslims are showering their affection on “Sikh brethren for their bravery.”
Across all the social media platforms, the Sikh community is being applauded for sheltering and helping Kashmiri Muslims under attack from mobs in different parts following the deadly Pulwama bombing on February 14 that left 40 CRPF men dead. The community of Sikhs rose above religion and caste, by setting up free kitchens and accommodation in Gurudwaras for Kashmiri students and general public, after their dwellings were pelted by stones and hundreds of vehicles set ablaze.
A local Kashmiri trader stuck in Jammu had stated , “The Sikhs have made it easy, like always. They make us believe that humanity exists. Our vehicles were set ablaze and stones are thrown on our rented rooms after the Pulwama attack ,we had no food, no accommodation, our Sikh brothers came forward and arranged langar, open Gurduwaras for us

Humanity voices may be in minority currently But as it is said Every cloud has a silver lining same has been the case here too with Khalsa aid and Sikh community at forefront in these places rendering a helping hand to humanity and rendering valuable services to those in dire needs irrespective of their colour, creed or religion.
The Khalsa Aid working on the Sikh principle of “Recognise the whole human race as one” has warmed the human hearts with its great work.
In Iraq Yazidi villages had been occupied by extremist fanatics , grown men in their community killed, and older women bussed away to empty land; they were considered useless. Since 2016, Khalsa Aid had seen trickles of Yazidi girls and young women have managed to flee their captors and return to the local community. But most return in the clothes the extremists forced them to dress in. Shopping for new clothes was the last thing they could imagine, let alone afford.
So, Khalsa Aid decided to act with an innovative approach: to give each one a budget to pick exactly the outfits they wanted, after months or years of violent brutal oppression. “We wanted to give the girls the freedom of choosing the clothes themselves” – Kanwar, Khalsa Aid project coordinator had stated . Each trip also offers a social outlet for a group with whom psychological trauma is rife.
Be it Kashmir or Iraq, Yemen or Burma the Sikh community and Khalsa Aid have risen to the occasion to heal the wounds of suffering humanity . As a Kashmiri we are all indebted to the efforts put in by the Sikh community in ensuring the safe return of people of kashmir to their native land amid all challenges .

News Kashmir Exclusive

Kashmiris all across India from North to South ,East to West are feeling threatened as the threats and attacks against them have risen drastically post the Pulwama terror attack which killed 40 CRPF jawan .
The political temperatures are running hot with Indo Pak relationship on verge of collapse . The Kashmir based parties are aghast over ill treatment meted to kashmiris . Former Chief Minister and NC Leader Omar Abdullah appealed for better central leadership on Thursday as he decried the targeting of Kashmiris across India in the wake of last week’s terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah said it appeared that those targeting Kashmiris had the blessings of the establishment, pointing out that one state governor had called for a boycott of the community.
Neither the prime minister nor the minister for home affairs spoke of tough action against the perpetrators, Abdullah said, adding that even the leading opposition party — the Congress — was silent on the issue.
Former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister and PDP Leader Mehbooba Mufti also cautioned that mischievous elements must not be allowed to use the Pulwama terror attack as “an excuse to persecute or harass people” from the state, saying the pain of the killings of CRPF personnel must not fuel “such diabolical plans”.

“Understand the pain & (and) anguish. But we musnt (must not) allow such mischievous elements to use this as an excuse to persecute / harass people from J&K. Why should they suffer for somebody else’s action? We need to be united instead of letting people exploit our fears,” Mehbooba wrote on Twitter.
An estimated 4000 Kashmiri students, businessmen and labroures from Jammu, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Delhi and other outer states had reached back home safely in the wake of threats made to them after the Pulwama attack.
On the otherhand, AIP members led by Engineer Rashid holding banners and placards that read “Stop targeting Kashmiri people living in India”, “Give protection to Kashmiri people in Jammu”, “Solve Kashmir issue by self-determination”, “Don’t celebrate killings” and raised slogans against Jammu police and its administration for not preventing attacks on Kashmiris.
While talking to media, Engineer Rasheed appealed the administration of Jammu to discharge its duties towards the masses and take stern action against those who are involved in arsenic and violence against Kashmiri community and damaging their property.

Make Pacification not conflagration

Make Pacification not conflagration
Showkat Ahmad Dar

“”War does not determine who is right -Only who is left””…..
Look around you. Observe the Globe you are Functioning in.
Can you feel the Pulsation of a thousand despondent hearts?
Can you discern the Trepidation for tomorrow in the looks of
people? Can you envisage the Yells of a thousand mothers
who are losing their children each day?
Now ask yourself, is this the place where you always wanted
to live? Is this the place where each child expects to grow up
when they open their impeccable eyes and see the world for
the first time? Are you able to look in the eyes of those
children without the feeling of penitence for this reality full of
evil, which they have to face? Is this what we have prepared
for them throughout centuries and years? We cannot deny the
simple truth that we were the ones who have been constantly
shaping this reality. But another simple truth is that it is not too
late to change something. We can make this world a better
place if we try. So why not to create good instead of evil? Why
not to make peace instead of war? Why not to spread love and
compassion instead of hate and arrogance? No one is born
with evil within. We are born, filled with love towards everyone
and everything around us. But instead of just following our
hearts full of light, we keep feeding ourselves with darkness
over and over again. When did we stop to judge people by
their personality and started to consider the color of their
skin? What urged us to acknowledge someone as an enemy
just because of the place they were born in? Isn’t Earth the
only place all of us were born in? Are the borders that
someone has drawn on the map powerful enough to build in
our souls the borders of prejudice, alienating us from each
other? Yes, they are! As long as we let them be. As long as we
teach our children to let them be powerful enough. When the
world and this life are nearly destroyed by the evil and hate we
spread, we would hardly care about the power we have
towards others. We would hardly care about the God others
are praying for, as long as those prayers can give us a hap to
survive. So why won’t we stop caring about it right now, at this
very moment? Why won’t we start making this world an out
shine place by creating peace and commiseration? And finally,
why won’t we earn the right to look at our children’s eyes with
the feeling of pride for the world we have built for them? Think
about these questions and, no doubt, you will find the
answers. Because the answers to those catechizes are
entombed deep inside each one of us. And we will find out
those answers as soon as we disband the dust of noxious and
distaste from our hearts…

Industrial growth must

Edit
Industrial growth must

Industrial growth is the backbone of progressive society . The industrial growth in right direction helps to fight grave economical problems. Since the last three decades, industries in Kashmir are being shoddily hit due to the ongoing turmoil and violence . We are also facing the problem of sick industrial units.

Poor industrial governance, infrastructure along with the poor investment climate has left the industrial sector in its infant stage struggling . Due to the unimpressive industrial growth especially in the kashmir valley the unemployment has risen much .

Experts and sane voices state that since the last 30 years of turmoil industries in Kashmir were badly hit due to the ongoing turmoil and clearly state that industrial picture in the Valley of Kashmir is quiet grim. Industrialists despite raising their issues feel badly let down by the government and concerned departments.

  • We need to bear in mind that ,a lot of industrial estate was created with the state intervention programmes like setting up of industrial growth centres, etc, but proportion of their production and employment generation is very small in the total secondary sector. One hope with more industrial estates coming up the employment picture in the state will improve.
Kashmir needs an impressive industrial growth to fight serious issues like lack of progress .
