A Civic action Programme was organized by 21 Bn CRPF on 11/01/17 at M.P.ML HR. SECONDARY INSTITUTE SRINAGAR. On this occasion, Various Sports items , were provided to the school with the purpose of providing best sports facility to students. Shri. Anand Singh Commandant 21 Bn CRPF was the Chief guest. The function was also attended by Shri Faiyaz Ahmed Ahangar Vice Principal alongwith Shri Mehrajuddin Sr. Lecturer, Shri Amin Zargar Sr. Lecturer, Staff members and students of M.P.ML HR. SECONDARY INSTITUTE SRINAGAR apart from officers and personnel of 21 Bn CRPF. Vice Principal of the school and students specially thanked to 21 Bn CRPF and highly appreciated their gesture with a hope to continue the similar work in future also. The objective of the programme was to emphasize upon the need of cordial relation between force and the local public specially the student who are the future of the nation.
JKP Rescue Operation rescues 80 persons
Rescue operation launched by JKP in Kulgam,
80 persons including 33 children rescued
Srinagar January, 18:Jammu and Kashmir police launched a rescue operation in Waltengoo Nad area of Kulgam and rescued 80 persons including 33 children.
In view of the heavy snowfall and apprehension of snow avalanche in Waltengoo Nad area of Kund Devsar, SSP Kulgam constituted rescue teams and under the supervision of SDPO and SHO Qazigund the teams rushed to the spot. After clearing the snow on about 15 Kilometres of road from Qazigund to Waltengoo, the teams reached to Waltengoo Nad.
During the rescue operation more than 80 persons including 33 children were rescued after strenuous efforts. They were evacuated to Governmentt Middle School Naubugh and arrangements like meals bedding heating were made by district administration.
Moreover, two children namely Riyaz Ahmad son of Abdul Rashid Deedad and Naseema daughter of Abdul Rashid Deedad resident of Waltengoo Nad who were suffering from hepatitis and have been shifted to hospital for treatment. Uh
WCD Ministry Second All India Women Journalists’ Workshop Ponders on Important Issues

Recently, on 21 November, 2016 ,over 100 top women journalists from across the country, representing various media organizations came together on a single platform at the second ‘All India Women Journalists’ Workshop’ organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in association with Press Information Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in New Delhi . The first ‘All India Women Journalists’ Workshop’ was held in June year 2016 .
Pertinently, workshop was inaugurated by the Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi . Minister of State, WCD , Smt Krishna Raj was also present along with other senior officers of the Ministry.
Women journalists from print, electronic and online media from the length and breadth of the country including small and regional media organizations participated in the conference.
Addressing the journalists, Smt. Maneka Gandhi said that the workshops are being organised by the Ministry to empower the women journalists so that they can act as agents of change especially in matters pertaining to women and child development. The effort of the Ministry is to connect to the journalists from the grassroots to make them active participants in the process of change, to receive feedback from them and also to receive ideas from the grassroots which will benefit the women and children, Smt Maneka Gandhi added. Journalists should also try to highlight success stories and find role models to enable the Ministry to give recognition to genuine people, especially to women contributing to community building in the field, she said.
Ms Farzana Mumtaz, Editor –in –Chief News Kashmir, who has experience of 17 years in the field of Journalism represented Kashmir in the conference. She highlighted the role of women in journalism and their contributions to the noble field and how despite all odds women have shined in the field of journalism . Farzana Mumtaz called for upholding ethics of journalism and duty of journalists to emerge as voice of voiceless.
On the occasion , Ministry of Women and Child Development threw light how ministry is taking different steps to help women and children especially those who are in pain and facing different problems and how ministry via its centers is helping to end violence and other discriminations against women and children in the country.
Among the core purpose of the workshop was to sensitise the women journalists and through them the entire society on gender issues .
Rajiv Kumar Ranjan assumes Charge as Director School Education
In a significant development related to education world, Rajiv Kumar Ranjan (IAS) assumed office today as Director School Education Kashmir, replacing Aijaz Ahmad Bhat.

In Assembly Er. Rasheed demands Minority status for Sikh community
Jammu 18 January: in assembly today, Er. Rasheed accused Govt. of ignoring the most militancy hit victim district Kupwara and added that while Govt. is claiming Lardly Beti scheme as an achievement, it has forgotten the most effected district Kupwara, including Dardpora, the village of orphans. While debating on grants pertaining to Social Welfare Department Er. Rasheed strongly advocated for ending reservation to SC’s on state level and said that reservation should be given on district levels to reserved categories, based on population. Er. Rasheed added that ST population is being deprived of their genuine rights in reservation and so are physically challenged people being denied their due quota. Er. Rasheed appealed Govt. to consider granting of minority status to Sikhs and added that we should not ignore the genuine rights of Sikh community. Er. Rasheed appealed Govt. to fulfil it’s duties towards Jail return Militants and the families of deceased militants.
GEC, NGEWA Welcome Budget
President Government Employees Conference and Non Gazetted Employees Welfare Association SKIMS Ishtiyaq Beigh has welcomed the announcements made by State Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu with reference to implementation of Pay commission and regularization of Daily Wagers.
Ishtiyaq Beigh while appreciating Finance Minister 80-minute long Budget speech in the State Assembly at Jammu in which the Finance Minister unveiled a roadmap for implementation of various reforms, recommendations of 7th Pay Commission and regularization of daily wagers and casual labourers has termed it visionary budget .
Ishtiyaq Beigh said -“ The positive steps taken on burning issues like regularization of daily wager and laying out time frame for implementation of 7th Pay Commission are all steps taken in right direction. All these announcements make this budget a historic one and this has brought smiles on the faces of daily wagers and employees .”
He also expressed hope that an era of dynamic work culture and efficiency, merit will usher which will make Jammu and Kashmir a progressive state .
KPPA Condemns Targeting Photojournalist
In a press statement ,Kashmir Press Photographers Association has strongly condemned the targeting of photographer Bilal Bahadur by police.
KPPA further stated that the photographer was injured after policemen directly fired tear gas shell towards him while he was covering funeral procession of slain militants in Bijbehara.
KPPA demanded that police should take action against the cops who fired the teargas shell directly towards him.
