Serious Crime

SERIOUS CRIME

Dr Suhaib Ashraf Bhat
Applying black magic on Allah swt’s people is not a good thing so keep in your mind that you will get punished. In modern era people do not actually deplore due to his sorrow, but other people’s happiness is the main reason behind his deploring. So they try lots of black magic to hurt other people. Sometimes they get success, however they cannot continue success in it  because Allah swt use to bless all his slaves. The practitioner of magic is the person who uses the shayaateen (devils) and gets close to the jinn by doing the things they like – such as sacrificing to them instead of to Allah swt, calling upon them alongside Allah swt, obeying them by disobeying Allah swt by committing zinaa, drinking wine, eating haraam things, neglecting prayer, covering himself with najaasaat (impure things) and staying in dirty places – until the shayaateen respond to what he asks them, with a gentle and kind approach, to do, such as harming the people against whom he uses his magic, causing division between a man and his wife, telling him some unseen things, and telling him about stolen items and where lost things are. Such a person is a mushrik and a kaafir, because he worships both Allah swt and the Shaytaan, which is major shirk (al-shirk al-akbar). So he is a kaafir, because Allah swt says (interpretation of the meaning);
“Sulaymaan did not disbelieve, but the Shayaateen (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic” [al-Baqarah 2:102]
“but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, ‘We are for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us).’” [al-Baqarah 2:102]
It was also commanded that the practitioner of magic should be executed, because of the hadeeth: “The hadd (prescribed punishment) for the practitioner of magic is a blow with the sword (i.e., execution).” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1460; al-Daaraqutni, 3/114; al-Haakim, 4/360; al-Bayhaqi, 8/136; see al-Silsilah al-Da’eefah, 3/641, no. 1446)
On this basis, he is a kaafir even if he prays, fasts, reads Qur’aan and makes du’aa’, because shirk cancels out all good deeds.
Sihr is a serious crime and is one of the kinds of kufr. It is one of things with which people have been tested, in the past and currently, among the nations of the past, during the Jaahiliyyah and in this ummah. The more ignorance increases, the less there is knowledge and awareness of faith, the less attention the authorities pay to this matter – the more the practitioners of sihr and trickery increase and spread in the land, to take the people’s wealth and confuse them and do other things. When knowledge prevails and faith increases, and the Islamic authorities are powerful, the number of these evil people shrinks and they move from one land to another, seeking a place where their falsehood will be accepted and they will be able to engage in their trickery and corruption.
The Qur’aan and Sunnah have described the kinds of sihr and the rulings on these matters.
Sihr is so called because its means are hidden or secret, and because the practitioners of sihr deal with things in secret which enable them to perform illusions to confuse the people and deceive their eyes, and to cause them harm or steal their money, etc., in a secretive manner so that in most cases nobody realizes what is happening. Hence the last part of the night is called sahar, because at the end of the night people are unaware and they do not move about much. And the lungs are also called sahr, because they are hidden inside the body.
According to sharee’ah, the meaning of sihr is what the magicians do to delude and confuse people, so that the one who is watching thinks that it is real when in fact it is not. As Allah swt said concerning the magicians of Pharaoh (interpretation of the meaning):
“They said: ‘O Moosa! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?’
Moosa said: ‘Nay, throw you (first)!’ Then behold! their ropes and their sticks, by their magic, appeared to him as though they moved fast.
So Moosa conceived fear in himself.
We (Allah swt) said: ‘Fear not! Surely, you will have the upper hand.
And throw that which is in your right hand! It will swallow up that which they have made. That which they have made is only a magician’s trick, and the magician will never be successful, to whatever amount (of skill) he may attain.’”
[Ta-Ha 20:65-69]
Sihr may involve things that the magician does when tying knots on which he blows, as is referred to in the Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning):
“And from the evil of those who practise witchcraft when they blow in the knots”[al-Falaq 113:4]
And it may involve other things which they manage to do through the shayaateen (devils), so they do things that may affect a man’s reason or make him sick; they may cause division between a man and his wife, resulting in her looking ugly to him, or by making her hate her husband or be put off by him. This is blatant kufr as the Qur’aan states. Allah swt says (interpretation of the meaning):
“They followed what the Shayaateen (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaymaan (Solomon). Sulaymaan did not disbelieve, but the Shayaateen (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic”
[al-Baqarah 2:102]
Allah swt informs us that they (the shayaateen) committed kufr by teaching men magic. Then He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Haaroot and Maaroot, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, ‘We are for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us).’”[al-Baqarah 2:102]
Then Allah swt says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah swt’s Leave”[al-Baqarah 2:102]
i.e., this magic and any harm that results from it is subject to the prior decree and will of Allah swt, for our Lord cannot be overwhelmed and nothing can happen in His Dominion against His Will. Nothing happens in this world or in the hereafter except by His prior decree and His great wisdom, as He wills. So some people may be tested by sihr, and others may be tested by sickness, or by being killed…etc.  Allah swt is All-Wise in all that He wills and decrees, and in all that He prescribes for His slaves. Hence Allah swt says (interpretation of the meaning):
“but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah swt’s Leave” [al-Baqarah 2:102]

The evils that come at the hands of the magicians or others do not happen because our Lord is ignorant, for He knows all things and nothing at all is hidden from Him, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, Allah swt is the All-Knower of everything”[al-Anfaal 8:75]
“that you may know that Allah swt has power over all things, and that Allâh surrounds all things in (His) Knowledge”[al-Talaaq 65:12]
So Allah swt knows all things, and nothing happens in His Dominion that He does not will, but He has perfect wisdom and good aims in whatever He decrees should happen to people of honour or humiliation,
People who have had experience with such situations have related that the following are among the signs of a person who is possessed by jinn (or Satan):
Strong repulsion when hearing Quraan or Aathaan (call for prayers).
Episodes of losing consciousness and/or epileptic attacks, especially when Quraan is recited for the possessed person.
Frequent nightmares during sleep.
Tendency to avoid people accompanied by out-of-the-norm behaviour.
The jinn who possesses him might speak when Quraan is recited for the possessed person.
Madness, as stated in the Quraan (interpretation of the meaning): “Those who devour usury will not stand except as stands one whom Satan by his touch hath driven to [epileptic] madness”2:275
As for a person struck by magic he might experience the following:
Dislike of one’s spouse, as indicated in the Quraan by the following verse (interpretation of the meaning): “And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife…” (Al-Baqarah, 2:102).
Different attitude in the house from that which is outside the house. For example, a person will feel that he is missing his family when is outside the house but when he goes home, love changes quickly to extreme hatred.
Inability to have sexual intercourse with ones spouse.
Frequent miscarriage for pregnant women.
Sudden change in behaviour without obvious reason.
Complete loss of appetite for food.
Thinking or imagining one has done something when in reality one has not.
Sudden obedience and/or love for a particular person.
It should be noted that if a person experiences some of the above symptoms this does not necessarily mean that he is either possessed by a jinn or struck by black magic. It might be due to physiological or psychological reasons.
As for curing this condition the following steps are recommended:
Putting ones trust in Allah with sincere belief that He is the only cure for everything.
Reading Quraan and known supplications expressing seeking refuge, the most important and effective of which is sura 113 and 114, Al-Falaq and Al-Naas, which were used to cure the Prophet himself. Surah 112, Al-Ikhlaas, is recommended along with them, as well as the opening chapter of the Quraan, Al-Fatihah. To cure black magic some have successfully used seven lote-tree leaves. The leaves should be crushed, then mixed them with water enough for taking a bath. The following verses from the Quraan are then recited: verse Al-Kursi (2:255), surah Al-Kafiroon (109), surah 112, 113, 114; the verses which mention magic, which are: in surah Al-Baqarah (2:102), Al-Araaf (7:117-119), Yunus (10:79-82), and Taha (20:65-69). The possessed person drinks some of the water, and the rest is used to give him a bath.
Removing the elements of magic as was done by the Prophet when he was struck by black magic by a Jewish man called Lubaid Ben Al-Aasim.
Eating seven Aaliya Al-Barniy dates (among the dates of Al-Madinah) first thing in the morning; if not possible, any dates will suffice, by the will of Allah swt.Cupping–removing excess blood.

In ISLAM DOING AN ENTIRE PARDHA BY MUSLIM WOMEN IS AN ACT OF WORSHIP

IN ISLAM DOING AN ENTIRE PARDHA BY MUSLIM WOMEN IS AN ACT OF WORSHIP

FAROOQ AHMAD BAKLOO( The Writer is A PHD STUDENT)
Since a month after the episode of Karnataka where some Muslim girls were not allowed to enter the school because of a violation of the school dress code. After that, the issue has become a national sensation and nourishment to those Media channels that repeatedly are a forerunner in unfurling the poison against the Muslims and the entire Muslim community. These news channels are doing discussions with a high velocity on the issue of whether doing pardha is in Islam or not. These channels tried to endorse or cultivate the opinion that doing Pardha by Muslim women is a sign of suppression and a tool of male domination in their households. During these debates, some participants even called that there is no word Hajib in the noble Quran and some misquoted the verses and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to cook their bogus argument. In reply to these faulty arguments about the Pardha of Muslim women presented and posed by controlled media. Some Muslim sections tried to respond to these posed undesirable questions. Those who are presenting the questions about the Pardha did not know the status and significance of doing pardha in Islam. To cite the example the Muslim girls most often said that doing Pardha is our choice and identify some say it is our culture. However, one must know that the Pardha of Muslim girls is an act of worship it is no choice, it is obligatory as it is a commandment in the noble Quran by Allah. The reason why I said this worship, the noble Quran says “I did not create Jin, or mankind, except to worship me. (Al Quran 51: 56). Here the word worship has a comprehensive meaning it means every action and saying that Allah loves and is pleased is included in the worship. According to the Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah ( d. 728H ) worship is a comprehensive term that brings together everything that Allah loves and is pleased with from actions or sayings both inward and outward ( Majmu al-Fatawa 10/49).According to Ibn Kathir (d. 774H) rahimahullah worship is obedience to Allah by acting what Allah commands and abandoning what Allah forbids (Tafsir al Quran al- Adhim). From the above definitions of both great scholars of Islam, it is crystal clear that worship is obeying the orders of Allah through the way Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught his companions. Therefore, the matter of Pardha of Women in Islam is undoubtedly the instruction of Allah mentioned in (An-Nur, 24) and (Al – Ahzab, 33 ) of the noble Quran. Allah says in Chapter 24 An-Nur verse 31 as:And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity and not reveal their adornments except what normally appears. Let them draw their veils over their chests, and not reveal their hidden adornments except to their husbands, their fathers, their father–in–law, their sons, their stepsons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons or sisters sons their fellow women, those bondwomen in their possession, male attendants with no desire, or children who are still unaware of women nakedness. (Translation Saheeh International Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the clear Quran).Another place where the Noble Quran commands the believing women to cover their entire body is chapter 33 Al – Ahzab verse, 59 as:O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their cloaks over their bodies. In this way, it is more likely that they will be recognized as virtuous and not be harassed. (Translation Saheeh International Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the clear Quran).Hence, it is evident that Pardha is an obligatory ruling and if anybody obeys this ruling as shown teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is doing the act of worship and fulfilling the commandment of Allah. THE WORD HIJAB IN THE NOBLE QURAN: Mostly the Word Hijab is famously associated with the covering of the body but the Quran does not use the term Hijab in this covering body context. We Muslims significantly used the word Hajib as equal to the Burka and regard the Hajib and Burka as identical. However, the word Hijab which is mentioned seven times in the Noble Quran is not used in this context. If we see the word Hajib according to the terminology of the noble Quran the Word Hijab refers to a curtain, barrier and in all seven places, it is used as a curtain and barrier as shown below:· Al – Ahzab Chapter 33, Verse 53. · Al- Mutaffin chapter 83 verse 15. · Al – Araf Chapter 7 verse 46. · Sad Chapter 38, verse 32. · Fussilat chapter 41, verse 5. · Ash-Shura chapter 45, verse 51. · Al – Isra chapter 17 verse 45. · Maryam chapter 19 verse 17. From the above verses of seven places of the noble Quran, it is clear that the word Hijab is used to define a barrier, and curtain. It is a big slap for those who are advocating that there is no word Hijab in the noble Quran and some ignorant people say that it is an Urdu word. These guys have never seen the noble Quran in their eyes. They only know how to spread the venom against the Islam and Muslim community. However, the Hijab that the Muslims used as the garment by which the woman has covered acts as a barrier and protects her from the unwanted gaze of the people. QURANIC WORDS FOR THE COVERING OF THE BODY OF THE MUSLIM WOMENAs far as the covering of the body of the Muslim women is concerned the noble Quran instructs the believers in two places in An-Nur chapter 24 verse 31 and Al- Ahzab chapter 33 and verse 59. In both places, the noble Quran used two different words for covering the body. In An-Nur the word Khimaar and in Al- Ahzab the word is Jalbaab.SCHOLARS AND THE MEANING OF KHIMAAR According to ibn Kathir: “Khumur is the plural of khimaar which means something that covers, and is what is used to cover the head. This is what is known among the people as a khimaar.”Shaykh Muhammad al-Munajjid defines “Khimaar comes from the word khimaar, the root meaning of which is to cover. For example, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Khammiru aaniyatakum (cover your vessels).” Everything that covers something else is called its khimaar. But in common usage khimaar has come to be used as a name for the garment with which a woman covers her head; in some cases, this does not go against the linguistic meaning of khimaar. Some of the fuqaha  has defined it as that which covers the head and the neck. The difference between the jilbaab and the khimaar is that the jilbaab is something that covers all of a woman’s body, whilst the khimaar, in general, is something with which a woman covers her head.”Shaykh Muhammad Nasiruddin Albani: “The word khimaar linguistically means only a head covering. Whenever it is mentioned in general terms, this is what is intended.Imam Abu Abdullah Qurtubi: “Women in those days used to cover their heads with the khimaar, throwing its ends upon their backs. This left the neck and the upper part of the chest bare, along with the ears, in the manner of the Christians. Then Allah commanded them to cover those parts with the khimaar.”Ibn Kathir: “‘Draw their khumur to cover their bosoms’ means that they should wear the khimaar in such a way that they cover their chests so that they will be different from the women of the jahiliyyah who did not do that but would pass in front of men with their chests uncovered and with their necks, forelocks, hair, and earrings uncovered.”.The dictionary of classical Arabic, Aqrab al-Mawarid: “[The word khimaar refers to] all such pieces of cloth which are used to cover the head. It is a piece of cloth that is used by a woman to cover her head. From the statements of these Islamic scholars, Khimaar is the garment that covers the head, neck, shoulders, and chest of the women. It is the obligatory dress commandment by Allah in the noble Quran for the believing women.MEANING OF JALABAABThe Noble Quran commands to the believing women to cover their entire body are chapter 33 Al – Ahzab verse, 59 as:O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their cloaks over their bodies. In this way, it is more likely that they will be recognized as virtuous and not be harassed. In this verse, the noble Quran mentions the word Jalbaab The word “jalabaab” is the plural of “jalbaab”. This ayah states an instruction for Muslim women to wear a garment which Allah SWT has called “jilbab.”The jilbab is the outer garment, mantle, or cloak. It is derived from the word tajalbaba, which means to clothe. Jilbab is the outer sheet or covering that a woman wraps around her on top of her garments to cover herself from head to toe. It hides her body completely” (Lisan al-Arab )JILBAAB AND THE HADITHS OF PROPHET (PBUH)Beyond this, the hadiths record how the sahabiyat (r.a) went about obeying Surah al-Ahzab ayah 59 when it was revealed:Sunan Abu Dawud Book 32 #4090. Narrated Umm Salama, Umm al-Mu’minin: When the verse, “That they should draw their jilbaab close around them” was revealed, the women of Ansar came out as if they had crows over their heads by wearing jilbaab. And there is more even than this. Some of the women remained in seclusion and never went out so that they did not own the garment called “jilbaab”. The hadiths record that the Prophet (sAas) commanded the women to come out for the Eid gathering, and what he said about the issue of the garment called “jilbaab”:Sahih Bukhari Book 8 #347. Narrated Umm Atiyya: We were ordered to bring out our menstruating women and screened women to the religious gatherings and invocation of the Muslims on the two Eid festivals. These menstruating women were to keep away from the musalla. A woman asked, “O Messenger of Allah! What about one who does not have a jilbaab?”. He said, “Let her borrow the jilbaab of her companion.CONCLUSION:From the noble Quran and authentic Sunnah, it is apparent that covering the entire body from head to toe. This is an act of worship for the Muslim women.  By doing this act Allah is pleased to those Muslim believing women who perform this action as shown by the authentic Sunnaha of the Prophet (peace be upon him). All the scholars are agreed on this, that covering the entire body by Muslim women is obligatory. And if any Muslim sister is not doing the complete pardha she is not obeying the order of Allah. The point of disagreement among the scholars is on the obligatory status of face veil and hand cover. However, these scholars also state Muslim women must cover the entire body including the face and hands. Besides this, the word Hijab in the noble Quran is used to refer to the barrier while for the complete coverage of the body of the believing women the word khimaar and Jalbaab is used in the noble Quran. The Khimaar, is an garment covering the head, neck shoulders, and the chest.  it is the dress that is mandatory and obligatory when the believing women is at home with Muharrams.  The Jalbaab is used when the believing women went out to the market, school, or any other public place. She must cover by the the entire body by an outer garment including the face and hands. The scholars defined the Jabaab as Sheikh Abdul Aziz ibn Baaz rahimahullah the previous grand Mufti of Saudia Arabia stated that Jalbaab is the outer garment covering all the body except eyes. Molana Maududi rahimahullah defined jilbaab as an outer garment covering the face. Sheikh Yousuf Qaradawi hafzahullah explains the Jalbaab as a loose outer garment and the sheik Nasir ul din Albani rahimahullah says the Jalbaab as an outer garment that is thick and opaque and covers the clothing under it and the women form.  Apart from this some of the untaught people who say that covering the entire body by Muslim women is a sign of backwardness and suppression, those people must understand that covering the entire body including face and hands is not backwardness. Nevertheless, it is the state of undress which linked with the backwardness and Stone Age.Modernization has nothing to do with the clothing of the person as modernization means the emergence of new ideas, inventions, and discoveries that have benefited the entire humanity. We see how the Muslim women who are strict ardent of parda are attaining good positions at the international and national level. Instructions related to the covering the body of women especially hair is also found in other religions as well like Judaism and Christianity. In Judaism, it is called (Kissui Rosh). But it is some anti-Islamic forces only target Muslim women because of their religious identity and their faith

Criminal Agenda

   CRIMINAL AGENDA
Dr Suhaib Ashraf Bhat
Crime against humanity, an offense in international criminal law, adopted in the Charter of the International Military Tribunal (Nurnberg Charter), which tried surviving Nazi leaders in 1945, and was, in 1998, incorporated into the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
I am living in a world whose concepts are no longer clear to me. A world where the criminal walks free and the victim is called a terrorist. A world where killing a one-year-old kid is permissible. A world that has left me baffled about what is right and what is wrong. No one can believe that any person with any religion or any mercy in his heart would split a pregnant woman’s belly and take the infant out then kill it; kill children one by one in front of their parents; smash heads with axes; or, burn the living. Only a criminal with a heart harder than a stone which has no mercy would do such acts. It is not even possible for a sane person to believe that such a person is a Human. This is a fact that can’t be denied. Killing of innocent people in communal and sectarian violence is nothing new in any country. A majority of the perpetrators of these horrific crimes enjoyed political patronage and were aided by an indifferent law enforcement agency. The criminals escaped prosecution and punishment,
Crimes against humanity are criminal acts that are directed at an identifiable group of people. Genocide is an example of a crime against humanity. Crimes against humanity are criminal acts that target a group of people based on their religion, ethnicity, or some other trait, which is not a direct result of something that group has done. One of the most common crimes against humanity is genocide, which is the murder of a large portion of the population. Genocide is often either condoned, or carried out by the government. While history looks back to Nazi Germany for its example of crimes against humanity, the truth is, many modern conflicts see some combination of displacement, torture, sexual violence, and death against civilians. In fact, the number of civilian deaths in modern conflicts far exceeds that of armed combatants.
The brutality of violence committed against civilians sickens the rest of the world, as women are forced into sexual slavery, children are abducted and used as slaves; political rebels or dissenters are killed or imprisoned, Human rights defenders and put behind bar, tortured, and murdered. All this because the targeted people happen to be members of the “wrong” group. This may be due to their religious beliefs, ethnicity, social class, or political beliefs.
Those perpetrators had deviant ideologies, turned away from the values of humanity, never cared for the good of others, and acted in complete disregard to the devastating consequences of their deeds (such as terrorising people, maximising risk of foreign intervention, deteriorating the country’s reputation, and discouraging domestic investments, which require stability and security).
War:
From the time when i become to distinguish between good and bad, I am witness to it that whenever such kinds of conflicts rise, Muslims are the first to be blamed for. In my life i have witnessed the war in Afganistan, Palestine, Iraq, Syria and so on.
But if you want to judge Islam on the basis of the actions of some of its followers and adherents, then you must let us judge Christianity and Judaism based on the actions of some of the followers of these two religions too. How can it be said that Christianity is a religion of love when we see that the holy war (crusade) that was declared by the US president killing hundreds and thousands of people in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq?
Even if we accept that al-Qaeda has attacked peaceful citizens in the USA, and we overlook the reports and studies that suggest otherwise and point to the involvement of intelligence agencies, can that aggression be warded off by occupying other countries? If Afghanistan was occupied in order to strike at al-Qaeda in that country, then why was Iraq occupied, which led to the killing of thousands and widespread abuse of prisoners [Abu Ghraib], and put an end to the peace and security that existed before the occupation, so that rivers of blood could continue to flow because of the consequences of occupation?
How can it be said that Christianity is a religion of love, when we see complete support for the Zionist occupation of Muslim lands, the expulsion of millions from their homes, the imprisoning of hundreds of thousands, and the wholesale replacement of one people by another? Didn’t the Jews live in peace in Palestine and other Arab lands before the establishment of the state of Israel? So why this occupation? And why do Western countries continue to support this usurper state? Why does the Christian West support this state, and why was it given the Balfour declaration by Great Britain in order to kill Muslims and stir up the grave turmoil, trouble and war that resulted from the planting of the Zionist entity in the region?
What do you want us to tell you about the current situation that is filled with terrorism of Christian states and the blood they have on their hands, represented by the new conservatives in the USA, Britain and elsewhere?
Or do you want us to tell you about the armed Christian terrorist groups, of which there are more than forty-one, and more than twenty-two militias in the USA alone? If we were to list for you the operations that these groups have carried out throughout the world, it would take far too long. How about if we listed all the terrorist groups throughout the world, which are motivated by racist or religious beliefs, all of which have emerged from the Christian world?
Have you not heard about the Muslims in Central Africa, and the massacres and atrocities to which they are being subjected? Have you heard about the offenses being committed against the Muslims in Myanmar, before the eyes of the entire world? Do you want us to tell you about the past? The pages of history are filled with the Crusades in which the Muslim lands were occupied and their blood was shed for hundreds of years?
Do you want us to tell you about what happened to the Muslims in Spain and the atrocities carried out against them by the Inquisition?
We cannot accuse Christianity, in the form that Allah sent down to the Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus son of Mary – peace be upon him), of being a religion of terror or aggression; rather it was a religion of peace, as were the religions of all the Prophets. Rather terrorism occurs among some of the followers who distort the divinely revealed books, or follow their own criminal agenda, or get confused, so they begin to shed blood, transgress sacred limits and provoke wars throughout the world.
There is no religion which promotes hatred; it’s the backed agenda, weapons deal, warfare alliance, political motivated decisions which are responsible for crime against humanity.                                                                                           For sure, we can find a great deal of common ground if we agree to respect treaties and covenants, and restore people’s rights in any country that have long suffered oppression and occupation, and the plunder of resources, sometimes in the name of freedom and sometimes in the name of fighting terrorism. At that point we will be able to find a way to debate calmly and wisely.
It is the duty of everyone in this world — leaders, politicians, and citizens — to mobilise and combat such erroneous ideologies. Scholars and intellectuals have a particularly important role in refuting the malicious thought that seeks to plunge society into chaos and turmoil and to implant intimidation and insecurity into Human lives.

Take Care of Your Heart

TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEART

Dr Suhaib Ashraf BhatHeart-related ailments among young people around the globe have become a concern for health experts. Heart attack is not just a heart disease but it is a threat to human existence. There is deep data which we need to know. A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is blocked. The blockage is most often a build up of fat, cholesterol and other substances, which form a plaque in the arteries that feed the heart (coronary arteries).  Let’s go through some facts about heart:1. Heart is a muscular organ that continuously beats for one lakh times in a day.2. The main function of the heart is to pump blood and nourish the body with oxygenated blood.3. In a day or 24 hours, the heart pumps almost 5000 gallons of blood.4. A heart helps the body to be free from carbon dioxide and other toxic elements. The reason is that it supplies oxygenated blood throughout the body.5. Myocardial infarction is made up of three words. Mayo is muscle, cardial is heart and infarction is the insufficient supply of blood to arteries or heart issues.
Common heart attack signs and symptoms include:
Pressure, tightness, pain, or a squeezing or aching sensation in your chest or arms that may spread to your neck, jaw or backNausea, indigestion, heartburn or abdominal painShortness of breathCold sweatFatigueLight headedness or sudden dizziness.
Not all people who have heart attacks have the same symptoms or have the same severity of symptoms. Some people have mild pain; others have more severe pain. Some people have no symptoms. For others, the first sign may be sudden cardiac arrest. However, the more signs and symptoms you have, the greater the chance you’re having a heart attack.
Some heart attacks strike suddenly, but many people have warning signs and symptoms hours, days or weeks in advance. The earliest warning might be recurrent chest pain or pressure (angina) that’s triggered by activity and relieved by rest. Angina is caused by a temporary decrease in blood flow to the heart.
Although the risk of heart attack (myocardial infarction, or MI) in young people is relatively low, between 4% and 10% of heart attacks occur in those under 45.  For some, the same lifestyle factors known to contribute to MI in people of all ages, such as diabetes, obesity, smoking, and being sedentary, often are at least partially involved. At the same time, there are a handful of lesser-known risk factors for MI that are associated with heart attacks experienced by young people. If you’re “too young” to have a heart attack, the chances you’ll have one are extremely low. Even so, it can’t hurt to know about the few risk factors that apply to younger people, as well as any measures that can be taken to help prevent an MI.
The overall risk factors for a heart attack are well known, but bear repeating, given that some that once applied mostly to older people are increasingly applicable to the young.
In particular, type 2 diabetes—which often results from poor diet, inactivity, and being overweight or obese and hypertension (high blood pressure) are increasingly associated with early heart attack risk.
In a 2018 review of more than 28,000 people hospitalized for a heart attack between 1995 to 2014, 30% were between 35 to 54 (considered young for the purpose of the study). What’s more, the prevalence of hypertension and diabetes has increased in this younger group. These conditions were observed more often in women than in men.3
If you’re worried about exercising too much, that’s a concern you can generally rule out. There have been a few reports that extreme endurance exercise may lead to the development of scar tissue in the heart, even in young people. However, doctors don’t know yet exactly what the scarring (fibrosis) means, and there is currently no significant data to suggest it can cause a cardiac event.
Furthermore, heart attacks are not a common cause of sudden cardiac death in young people. Overall, there are many more studies that show exercise prolongs life and reduces the risk of cardiac issues.

A heart attack, also called a myocardial infarction, can be fatal, but treatment has improved dramatically over the years. The heart senses emotional information five to seven seconds before it happens, while the brain senses it three to five seconds beforehand. So not only are emotions important contributors to our output of thoughts, but they may be one of the best ways to influence and create a change in what and how we think.
In 1974, the French researchers Gahery and Vigier, stimulated the vagus nerve (which carries signals from heart to the brain) in cats and found that the heart and nervous system were not simply following the brain’s directions.
In 1983, the heart was reclassified as an endocrine gland when a new hormone called atrial natriuretic factor (ANF), which affects blood vessels, kidneys, adrenal glands and regulatory regions in the brain, was found to be being produced by the heart.
Dr. J. Andrew Armour discovered the heart also contains a cell type known as intrinsic cardiac adrenergic (ICA), which synthesizes and releases neurotransmitters once thought to be produced only by neurons in the brain and nerve ganglia.
The heart starts beating in an unborn fetus before the brain has been formed, a process scientist’s call “autorhythmic.”
Dr. Armour introduced the concept of a functional “heart brain” in 1991. Considered an independent entity, the heart’s brain is composed of an elaborate network of neurons, support cells and neurotransmitters which enables it to process information, learn, remember and produce feelings of the heart and then transmit this information from one cell to another.
“We observed the heart was acting as though it had a mind of its own and was profoundly affecting perception, intelligence and awareness,” explained McCraty.
According to Goleman, it’s a person’s EQ (Emotional Quotient) that enables them to succeed in life as much or more than their IQ (Intelligence Quotient).
During the ‘60s and ’70s pioneer physiologists John and Beatrice Lacey conducted research that showed that the heart actually communicates with the brain in ways that greatly affect how we perceive and react to the world around us.
Neurologist Antonio Damasio stresses the rationality of emotion in his book Descartes’ Error, where he emphasizes the importance of emotions in decision-making. He points out that patients with brain damage in the areas of the brain that integrate the emotional and cognitive systems can no longer effectively function in the day-to-day world, even though their mental abilities are perfectly normal. So have they not travelled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts. [Quran, 22:46]
Hearts are the main source of reasoning. Here, rationality has been associated with it, since no organ works if the heart doesn’t.
So you see those in whose hearts is disease hastening into [association with] them, saying . . . [Quran, 5:52]
Almost everywhere, feelings precede thinking. What you feel is what you say usually. It all starts from the root, out until the fruit. Is it really think before you speak, or rather feel before you do?
The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children. But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart. [Quran,26:88-89]
You have a damaged heart and it makes a lot of difference. So don’t take this half-heartedly!
Then do they not reflect upon the Quran, or are there locks upon [their] hearts? [Quran,47:24]
This implies that one can’t reflect if one’s heart is locked. Perhaps we should try to think with an open heart instead of an open mind, because if the heart is open eventually the mind will open, too, because thinking sprouts from the heart.
And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favour of Allah upon you – when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favour, brothers. [Quran, 3:103]
Great minds think alike? How about this: Great hearts bond alike.
The prevention of heart disease in young people means taking the same measures recommended for older adults: following a healthy diet, getting regular exercise and routine medical check-ups, achieving weight control, and smoking cessation. However, there is growing concern that the message isn’t reaching younger age groups.
Heart abnormalities are a risk factor for sudden cardiac death and heart attack in young people. Two such conditions are:
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, an inherited condition characterized by enlargement of heart muscle cells that causes the walls of the ventricles to thicken. It is currently believed to be the most common cause of sudden cardiac death in young athletes, though other conditions can also cause a heart attack in this population.
Kawasaki disease, a rare childhood disorder, causes acute inflammation of blood vessels. When coronary arteries are affected, the heart may be deprived of oxygen-rich blood, leading to tachycardia (an abnormally rapid heart rate), cardiac inflammation, and heart failure.
May Allah give shifa to all those suffering from heart diseases.

Has the complexion of Board Exams Changed ?

Has the complexion of Board Exams changed?                      Owais Ahmad  Shah(The writer is PG Student,Kashmir University)
The 12th class board results have been declared in Kashmir division. The students are celebrating their success & those who have  failed in the exams are crestfallen & pained. It’s true that success brings joy & failure brings anxieties. The understanding that has developed in these results is that something has changed. The success stories in past would get much attention. It would be a story for everyone that who scored high marks & parents would push their kid’s ahead & instill positivity in them. There was a greater societal value for marks & it was continuing since year’s.It meant everything for us.Not only this year results but past year results have raised a very important question about the complexion of exams. In past, students would go through panic stations before exams, there was much pressure building up & exams were not easy to face.We would have students depressed & much things would happen with them. There was one thing that students would fear & that was getting failed. The recent results are much different & marks scoring has become now easy & it’s like everything is given for free.It is true that students have worked hard & they did it by their sweat but the manner this is happening brings to attention the complexion of exams. Are exams now conducted not as past? or Is there anything new that has emerged? I think there is a serious need to revisit exams & it must be seen properly that fair evaluation is done.We need success stories but positive success stories.Marks scoring should have a proper evaluation & students must be given marks which is at par with their work.
Each year we have thousands of students passing 12th exams & subsequently pursuing bachelors in college or technical courses outside. We should understand how much this society gets benefitted by the number of students. The number of quality students is always there who can shine out in competitive exams but the question is what if we would have students who have scored high marks without knowing what they did & how they scored it.The best would be to revisit these exams & ensure a credible examination system that would give an impression of fair evaluation & a good education.

A Fate Worse than Death

A FATE WORSE THAN DEATH
Dr Suhaib Ashraf Bhat
Crime against women, which is increasing day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute and second by second. Thinkers are thinking to reduce the crime; Philosophers making another philosophy out of it yet the rate of the crime is increasing by increasing rate. Punishment for the rape cases or acid attack is much lower than the harm caused. In court, the person freely walks in the society for months and years together, because of the ant-paced judicial system where we get hearings after hearings.
Rape and acid attack:  If we talk psychologically there is no difference between the two. The aftermath effect is most probably same.
Rape:  Is this not the shame for whole society? Rape is one of the more appalling things that one human being can do to another, and yet there is no other crime about which our society is so ambivalent. That must change.
The effects of rape can include both the initial physical trauma as well as deep psychological trauma. Although rape victims commonly report injuries and issues with their reproductive health after the sexual assault, rape doesn’t always involve physical force. The most common and lasting effects of rape involve mental health concerns and diminished social confidence.
Aftermath of Rape:
The aftermath of rape involves a cluster of acute and chronic physical and psychological effects. It’s important that victims receive comprehensive care. This only adds to the psychological impact of the rape on the victim. Victims of extremely violent rape, or those who were assaulted repeatedly or at a very young age, may need treatment for the rest of their lives. Is this not really breathtaking?
Increasing crimes is what we are witnessing these days. Criminals have come up with various strategies of committing crimes to which unfortunately our judicial system is continuously failing.
When a crime is done to a person and when the victim goes to register a complaint, the first thing our police personnel do is to deny taking the complaint. Even if they take the complaint, they file it in such an easy manner that the criminal can easily escape even if he has done a grave mistake like rape. When a victim is raped the police files the complaint of “sexual assault” or “attempt to rape” and when the victim is assaulted sexually or attempted to rape, these “kind” men advises not to file the case and get compromised as the career of the criminal will get destroyed. These people have soft hearts towards criminals and stone-hearts towards innocents.
When the victims force to file a strong case against the criminals these people have a very good strategy to harass them by taking counter case from the criminals and lay false charges against the victims. In this way the victim is harassed double. In some situations, the victims are unable to tolerate injustice and even go to the extent of committing suicides!

Acid attack: An acid attack involves the premeditated throwing of acid on a victim, usually on her face. It is a gender-based heinous crime against women. In addition to causing psychological trauma, acid attacks result in severe pain, permanent disfigurement, subsequent infections, and often blindness in one or both eyes. Acid attack is a form of gender-based violence aimed at silencing and controlling women. The use of acid as a weapon began to rise in many developing nations, specifically in South Asia. The first recorded acid attack occurred in India in 1982. In many countries, acid attacks constitute a hidden form of violence against women and children that often go unreported and the true number of horrific attacks taking place does not come to light.
Consequences of Acid Attacks:
Physical consequences: Acid burns through skin and flesh, layer by layer, causing great pain and injury. It eats through the two layers of the skin, into the fat and muscle underneath, and sometimes down to the bone, it may dissolve the bone. The profoundness of injury depends on the brawn of the acid and the duration of the contact with the skin – the burning goes on until the acid is scrupulously washed off with water. Further, if thrown on a person’s face, acid speedily eats into eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. The pain is agonizing, as a strong burning heat cuts through the victim’s flesh like a hot knife. Eyelids and lips may burn off completely. The nose may melt, closing the nostrils, and ears shrivel up. Acid can rapidly destroy the eye, causing the victim to be blind. Skin and bone of the skull, forehead, cheeks, and chin may melt. The acid usually splashes or drips over the neck, chest, back, arms, or legs, burning anywhere it touches. One study found that on average, the patient suffered by acid attack burns to 14% of their body surface area, with areas most commonly affected including the face (87% of the victims), head and neck (67%), upper limbs (60%) and chest (54%). Around a third of victims (31%) suffered complete or partial blindness. Psychological Consequences: A psychological trauma is suffered by the victim when she perceives that her skin is burnt off and after the attack the defacement and the disabilities with which they have to bear for the rest of their lives. Some of the psychological problems which the victims suffer are insomnia, nightmares, depression, fear of facing the world, headache, tiredness, fear of other acid attacks. They also feel despondent and worried as they think they turned an outcast from society. The victim’s life gets derailed as every time she looks in the mirror she is reminded of her present insecurity as well as the despondency of the future. Social and Economic consequences: The victims who are not married are likely not to get married as they suffer from many disabilities like blindness, deafness, and many others difficulties and our society’s mindset is not that wide enough to accept a disabled person as their wife. They even do not get a job notwithstanding being qualified as they cannot meet up to the expectation of their employers as not having the ‘personality. Instead of helping them, we make their life more annoying, as we commiserate them as we do not like to look at their faces for long. However, this approach needs to be changed as they are suffering not for their wrong, but due to the fault of some savage animals roaming around the society freely.

For any crime to get reduced or stop we ought to go to the root cause. Know the reasons why it is happening. Be honest in accepting the reasons and endeavour to solve the problem logically. The only solution for this problem and to defend the honour of women – “the jewels of the society” is hardcore punishment. Please no more TAREEK PAI TAREEK.

Acid Horror

Acid attack…A chilling indictment of our society!!!

Owais Ah Shah

The writer is PG student,University of Kashmir.

The recent horrendous & horrid acid attack has yet again brought to fore the question of women security in Kashmir. This is not the first incident but year’s ago a young girl in Srinagar city was also brutally attacked by acid attackers. These are attacks with no end, whatsoever may be the cause & concern. It is an indictment of our society & we need not to only pour condemnation & use harsh words for the attackers but seriously something bigger must be done.

The society has to seriously come together on these grave issues concerning us everyday.Law can’t be the only sovereign remedy to get rid of such crimes where our women folk is easily attacked. There needs to be a calibrated, substantive approach taken up in the society that the crimes are curbed.

The victim of these attacks have to suffer everyday of their life & so does the family. It always keeps on going around & the pain never disappears. This is very cruel & causes anguish among every conscious minded human being.

We may go on pouring condemnation on this & tomorrow everything will be hunky dory. The principal question is that how long will such dregs of humanity move around & put the lives of other’s on peril. How long will our women folk suffer because of the mentally deranged humans.

The recent attack is a reminder for us to wake up from the slumber & take up a stronger fight against this & nip the evil in bud.

The biggest problem we suffer is that we raise fingers at the women. We say they have to be blamed for their dress, for their morals & blab blab but does anyone have the courage to speak up against those people who are taking drugs, moving out late in the night & their families wondering where they are lost.If they are questioned at home for all this nonsense, they beat their parents & abuse them.

We need to do basic counseling of our young generation. We must come together & address these grave social issues.Nobody would dare to do it if the mentality is improved & a healthy social order is created. These crimes will help & will continue to happen,if this society doesn’t understand it seriously.

We can’t imagine how much painful it would be for the victim & her family. It would be eating into their heart & soul.It is heartbreaking for me while writing this piece that how much suffering it would cause.

At the end,may a new dawn break in this society where our sisters, daughter & mother’s can live a life worth living.

Maulana Azad… The giant who embraced India!

Maulana Azad…The giant who embraced India!
Name:Owais Ah Shah

Pursuing PG in Political Science from University of Kashmir.

In today’s India when Muslim’s are met with the terrible questioning about their Indianness,Moulana Azad brings hope & positivity by his conviction & can-do character. He was among the colossus figures who fought for the unity of India & left an indelible mark on the pages of history. His wisdom, conviction & erudition made him the giant among men.He stood with the idea of India during the toughest time’s when he was met with terrible opposition & was rather seen from the eyes of disgrace by other’s.Azad never changed his stand & made it amply clear that he will stand with the idea of India. His erudition, leadership qualities & willingness to make a difference made him the prominent & one of those leaders who was loved by all. He better fitted himself in the shoes of the “leader of the caravan” (of Indian Muslims). Recognising his own strengths, and with a sense of being chosen by destiny, Azad felt that he was the right person for this sensitive role. He also saw himself as someone who could interpret the Quran for his fellow Muslims,a task that he eventually accomplished in his magnum opus, Tarjuman-ul-Quran. Azad was an active participant in the Khilafat agitation and during the course of his participation set out the principles of his political creed of which Hindu-Muslim unity was an important component.

His shift from communitarian to a more accommodating secular world view is very fascinating to know. Azad was not the only Muslim leader who made this transition as a generation of nationalist Muslim leaders cut their teeth in the Khilafat movement while also coming into contact with Mahatma Gandhi for the first time. Saifuddin Kitchlew, Syed Mahmud and M.A. Ansari were prominent nationalist Muslim leaders who gained popularity during the Khilafat movement.

It is important to note that Azad made no distinction between his religion and his politics. So it followed that he strongly justified his cooperation with non-Muslims through theology. Just before the launch of the Khilafat movement, Azad wrote a lengthy article arguing that non-Muslims could enter mosques.

One of the powerful speeches that he gave & the most striking part of it which captured everyone’s attention to know what was Azad’s vision as a leader.

He said: “Today, if an angel were to descend from the heaven and declare from the top of the Qutab Minar that India will get Swaraj within twenty-four hours, provided she relinquishes Hindu-Muslim unity, I will relinquish Swaraj rather than give up Hindu-Muslim unity. Delay in the attainment of Swaraj will be a loss to India, but if our unity is lost, it will be a loss for entire mankind.”

He founded the All India Nationalist Muslim Party in 1929 to mobilise Muslim opinion in favour of the Congress’ secularism but this organisation never achieved the kind of acceptance & rise as the Muslim League enjoyed.

When the cauldron was building up & Jinnah wasnt in good terms with congress,Azad was precisely chosen as the President in 1940 by Congress. He tried to work towards a united India and address the insecurities of Muslims but his efforts were futile. He wasnt only ridiculed by the Muslim League but he was alienated slightly within the Congress leadership, this must have been the lowest point of his life.

The penultimate Viceroy, Lord Wavell, records how Jinnah refused to shake hands with Azad when the two met at the Viceregal Lodge in Shimla in 1945.

More distressingly, a garland of shoes was flung at Azad at the Aligarh railway station in 1947 by students who saw him as a traitor to the Islamic cause. It must have been tough to be Azad at that point.

With Partition, Muslims in India once again looked to Azad for guidance. In his address at the Jama Masjid in Delhi on October 20, 1947, Azad spoke eloquently and emotionally: “Do you remember, when I called out to you, you cut off my tongue? I picked up my pen, you severed my hand. I wanted you to walk at my side but you sliced off my feet.” He broke down while delivering this speech but his qoum (community) was looking to him for leadership.

In today’s India when Muslim’s start reflecting about their belonging to India because of the so-called “Proud Indians”,Azad’s legacy brings much hope & positivity that an Indian doesn’t need a religious identity but a stronger will to sacrifice everything for India. He stood stronger in his conviction & made sure that everything can be achieved on the fundamental principle of “unity of India”.Azad shall continue inspiring Muslim’s & other’s who see him as a true leader who stood for the idea of India.

Meet Aliya Farooq first certified Lady Trainer of Valley

Meet Aliya Farooq first Certified Lady Trainer of Valley

Mir Sabeen Gulrez
Srinagar Jan 20: Braving all the odds to chase his dreams to become a gym trainer Mother of two Aliya Farooq of Khanyar is the first lady Gym trainer who not only fought with her postpartum depression but surely has set an example by motivating ladies to lose weight and fight with their depression.Speaking to News Kashmir Aliya said,” In Kashmir maximum aren’t going to gym just because they to face male gym trainer and parents won’t allow”.She said in my case when I became the mother of two I faced several issues regarding my health similar to weight problems or trite, ”My husband suggested I join a gym, but I was not sure whether a male trainer can understand the female body or not. I went to Delhi and was inspired by fit married women, and I decided to join the gym there. I lost almost 28Kgs in just four months”. This was the beginning of the era in which I choose to write for myself, now onwards I was a fully motivated lady who wanted to be an inspiration to others. Whatever I have faced I never wanted any other lady should face that.My Father In Law I don’t have words to express such a noble person is the one who stood by my side when I was all alone fighting with the stereotypes and taboos of being something different. He told me that I am just like your father whatever people say don’t bother don’t give them any answer your success will reveal everything to them. Aliya’s husband who himself is the owner of a gym with a name “Fitness Solution” always supported Aliya .Owing to a brand with the name “Fitness Solution only for ladies”, was like a dream come true as it was like when you get the results from people which you always wanted from them. Their transformations nowadays are like unbelievable results, Aliya stated. She states “I went to Hyderabad for full-fledged training and took charge of my husband’s gym as an instructor in 2012. Since then, I have trained thousands of women from different parts of the Kashmir Valley. Not only this even have I done a fitness trainer course from J&K Body Building Association affiliated with the Bodybuilding Federation of India. High blood pressure, cholesterol and infertility are common issues among females and hence they need to exercise regularly,” she said.In the beginning, it was ok but when people started noticing me and my work. There was a mixed response from people initially even in the beginning they even criticized me but when I show them results they got goosebumps.Aliya said in the last 10 years, she has trained over 20,000 women who were suffering from depression, obesity and other major health issues like PCOD’S especially. Even those students whom I trained myself are running their gyms and are working there as gym trainees. Some of the students who talked with us wanted their names should be kept anonymous  told News Kashmir that one of the students   lost almost 25kgs within three months. Another girl who was suffering from PCOD’s with her best efforts managed to lose almost 30kgs of weight and when she went to Dr again the consulted Dr was surprised as she has fought with the odds. These are very rare cases in our gymnasium and we always provide our best to them.  In the present era, fitness is always considered as an important aspect of well being and regular exercise can keep us away from various diseases, like depression, PCOD’s, dreadful diseases like cancer,” she said, who is not a competition these days you or yourself. Undoubtedly we are living in a male-dominated society where everyone wanted a slim, beautiful wife but no one knows from which trauma she has to suffer after giving birth. Try to understand from which phase she is going through.Heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and infertility issues in women are common because they don’t work or exercise,” she said. “There is no need to come to gym centre’s but exercise is a must. Just eating and sleeping is very dangerous for our health, it can give you only fatigue and several health issues.” PCOD’s which is common in today’s generation; I wonder how mothers ignore these issues. It’s not only consulting Dr’s it’s also how much you work out after eating lots of junk from the market.Dr Ammar Khan a Gynaecologist by Profession while speaking up with News Kashmir told that, PCOD’S is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, this is usually growing up in our valley particularly in Kashmir this is because of  Obesity, so, initially the treatment protocol is like you have to go for simple lifestyle management, what we call it initially is you have to lose weight, to decrease the obesity, to measure the BMI is Basal Metabolic Body Index, because this PCOD’s have targeted Valley very aggressively, you cannot leave the PCO’s like this, these patients have to pay in the long run like they can have to get easily prone to deadly disease like cancer, uterine cancer breast cancer,  they can have diabetes that’s why we are going in a trend in increasing PCO’s.  The Best thing in initially we have for the three months if the patient is Obese we try to convince them rather counselling is the best part, A doctor has to counsel or rather have to ask her to follow a dietician and also she needs to be physically fit, so she reduces the weight after that if scenario changes without any medication. Then it’s ok if not then she can have many other issues like the irregularity of periods, or either she may have other issues. But the main issue lies with her obesity which is the initial stage of every disease, Khan said. Dr Seerat Nabi (PT): a well-known physiotherapist from the valley told News Kashmir that exercises have a vital role in making people physically fit. It includes advising and assisting people to keep themselves active and healthy. A physiotherapist has gained paramount importance in helping individuals to get healed and relieved from major and minor pains, injuries, deformities, neurological disorders, orthopaedic conditions and many more. Apart from the therapeutic exercises, regular low-impact aerobics like walking and swimming are also recommended. These exercises help in releasing endorphins, the natural painkillers of your body along with keeping your body active and fit. The exercises are recommended by the physiotherapists within a prescribed period. As it helps to give you relief from pain, with further workout, daily fitness and getting a healthy physique becomes possible that too in a natural way.

Afghanistan: Let Them Eat

     AFGHANISTAN: LET THEM EAT

Dr Suhaib Ashraf Bhat

After the Soviets bailed out of Afghanistan in 1989, the U.S. decided that it had little stake in what happened in the country and the region. Virtually all government assistance ceased. America decided to let the Afghans sort out their differences and left Pakistan, erstwhile partner in the jihad against communism, to fend for itself in coping with the fallout of the decade-long Afghan conflict. What America got in Afghanistan was a bloody, anarchic, fratricidal civil war, the rise of the Taliban and the settling in of Al-Qaeda. Please note, Al Qaeda was in Afghanistan before Taliban. All those countries later complaining about them supported them at the time of the Soviet invasion.

Over the past few months, the UN has repeatedly warned that Afghanistan is on the brink of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. More than half the country is facing “acute” food shortages. According to the UN, almost 24 million people in Afghanistan about 60 per cent of the population suffer from acute hunger, and about 8.7 million Afghans are coping with famine.

Last month, Afghan demonstrators marched through the streets of Kabul towards the US shuttered embassy, calling for the release of billions of dollars in assets frozen by Washington and its allies.
“Our main demand is that the United States should release our assets as soon as possible,” the protest organizer as quoted. “This is the wealth of the nation, not of any single person, group or government.”
The protesters chanted anti-US slogans and held banners reading “Let us eat” and “Give us our frozen money.”

As the harsh winter sets in, situation could be even worse, “The children don’t have warm clothes and it’s becoming very cold. Hunger and destitution seem to kill more Afghans than all the bombs and bullets of the past two decades.
In late December, the UN Security Council and the United States gave aid agencies a green light to scale up life-saving assistance without fear of breaking sanctions. But the point is humanitarian aid is the only a sticking plaster – liquidity must be injected into the economy to revive business, trade and livelihoods, and frozen money released to pay for crucial services.

An increase in poverty is inevitable in Afghanistan. The UN Development Programme reports that 97% of civilians could plunge below the poverty line by mid-2022. According to a local official of the World Food Program (WFP), 60% of those living in the northern provinces of Afghanistan are currently suffering from hunger and this figure will likely increase in the months ahead. Aid organizations such as Doctors Without Borders have warned of an “impending humanitarian crisis.”
There is currently a severe economic crisis in the country. Many civilians, including former employees of NGOs and the previous Afghan government, are either unemployed or have no hope of earning a living. The unskilled and manual labour workforce has now minimal or no income at all. Alarmingly, farmers have suffered losses due to drought, winter is fast approaching and medical supplies are running out in the country’s remote provinces. These incidents take place when the price of raw materials has risen sharply. Millions of children are likely to be malnourished as a result of the growing economic crisis.
Delegates of the 57-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) met on December 19 in a special session in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad to set up a humanitarian trust for Afghanistan as the country faces a harsh winter where millions could starve. The conference was the largest international summit on Afghanistan since the Taliban deposed the US-backed Afghan government in August.

The OIC vowed “to unlock the financial and banking channels to resume liquidity and flow of financial and humanitarian assistance.” Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi announced the development fund and said it would be set up under the auspices of the Islamic Development Bank, although it’s unclear whether the effort will succeed.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan warned millions could starve and chaos could engulf the country if the situation is not addressed urgently. “Unless action is taken immediately, Afghanistan is heading for chaos,” Khan said. Khan urged the U.S. to “de-link” aid to the Afghan people from the Taliban government his nation helped install in Kabul. He suggested Western ideals of human rights may not match the reality on the ground and cautioned, “Every society’s idea of human rights is different.”
While concerns mount about the level of crisis facing Afghanistan, the international response has lagged. Western governments are reluctant to assist the Taliban out of fear of providing legitimacy.
In a statement, the meeting’s participants said permitting Afghanistan access to frozen currency reserves abroad would be essential to preventing economic collapse. Representatives from the U.N, U.S, E.U. and Japan all observed the conference. It was left unclear how much the humanitarian fund would hold. Afghanistan’s acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi told delegates, “We cannot ignore the danger of complete economic meltdown.” More than 20 million Afghans face starvation since the Taliban overran the capital Kabul in mid-August. The near-total collapse of Afghanistan’s banking system has complicated the already intricate matter of delivering humanitarian aid.

It is obvious to everyone that the financial crisis is shaking the entire world, East and West. It is a serious event that is giving the politicians, decision makers, prominent thinkers and economist’s sleepless nights. It is a huge calamity that is very complex and has many implications, which explains the great turmoil being experienced by economists and politicians, and it also explains why so much is being written about it, analysing it from different points of view. They are in a state of great confusion, and some of them have started to blame one another for what has happened.
Poverty is one of the calamities either to a specific person or a family or a society. Poverty has negative effects on people’s beliefs and conduct. Immoral behaviour becomes widespread to a large extent because of poverty, as a means of meeting people’s needs, so theft, murder, prostitution and other harmful things become widespread. Undoubtedly these things have a negative effect on individuals and societies.

When armed conflict breaks out or natural disasters strike, entire communities are affected, disrupting their day-to-day lives and long-term development prospects. Humanitarian aid is designed to save lives and alleviate suffering during and in the immediate aftermath of emergencies, whereas development aid responds to ongoing structural issues, particularly systemic poverty, that may hinder economic, institutional and social development in any given society, and assists in building capacity to ensure resilient communities and sustainable livelihoods. Both humanitarian and development aid are related, and different forms of aid often have both humanitarian and development components.
There is no doubt that the world has an obligation to help. To help any country or any society irrespective of Religion, Creed or Colour, all you need to do is just be human. Just imagine the plight of those small kids right now who don’t have food, accommodation, warm clothes. The world has to support Afghan people and carry out their humanitarian obligations.
