Srinagar: Zameer Ul Amin Bhat from Natipora Srinagar started his journey of Dance from his teens in 1999 when Jammu And Kashmir was facing Political Turmoil. His Passion of Dancing made him what he is actually these days. Valley was going through its worst phase but in Kashmir there was always social proscription on Dance. He is among the pioneer when it comes to starting dance academy in Kashmir so as to train young buds in dancing field. Zameer has done his schooling from Muslim Educational Institute (M.E.T) Baghat where he always participated in cultural dance shows.Zameer who not only fought with society for his passion but this time is the owner of the “All J&K Dance Sports Association”, where not only students learn dance but also get chance to represent themselves on state and national level. Not only this at atleast 60 students have enrolled in this academy so far.Zameer was the first person from valley whose dance shoot was telecasted on Doordarshan. And soon after he got chance to perform as an artist in many DD Kashmir serials. In the year 2000 Zameer was the first person who started his own dance academy as the youth who was influenced by his dance wanted him to be their teacher.Initially zameer gave it a name as Eagles Dance Group who not only performed theatre, dance shows, events etc.“I even got life threats but I did not look here and there and focused on my work, which I never wanted to leave . I wanted that this leagacy of dance should go beyond boundaries as its better that our youth instead of going in drug abuse or any other heinous crime will be in safe hands, and one day will make their families proud”, Zameer said.Zameer said,”In the year 2003,Tagore hall Srinagar was thrown open for public after long time due to political instability in the valley and it was my group which performed in the dancing event. After this my group never looked back. In 2005 I made a contract with Zee for new year program that got very much highlighted as it was for the first time that such event was telecasted live on Zee”.While narrating his story to News Kashmir Zameer said, My journey was not easy I had to face many backlash from society as well initially people used to taunt me and my group we were called “Nachanwael” etc etc. Than later on, this mindset of people got changed and they also started encouraging and supporting me. Later on my group performed outside Kashmir, did republic day event, independence event etc. Army also approached my group and we did many of the dancing events with them. In the year 2007 my group collaborated with Art, Culture and Information Department of J&K where my group got registered and we did lot of State and national level programs with them and my group got facilitated many a times. My group also represented J&K in the International folk festival at Rajasthan were we emerged as winners and brought laurels to J&K. It was the time when no dancing events at local and state level was organized. It was me who started dancing shoot for new program that was telecasted on Doordarshan. Those days no stage program was held so. With the passage of time people started recognizing me and appreciating my performances. And at the same time I performed as an artist for many TV serials in DD Kashmir. From here I started my career as an artist in television after that I got a chance to perform at Amritsar for solo dance and I emerged as a winner in that very event. While talking to News Kashmir Zameer’s mother told that, “every mother should have a son like zameer what he said me earlier that one day he will not only make me proud but all was a correct statement because as not only me he made proud the whole system , the whole society, I Don’t give a damn to society what they said to me , but what I feel as a mother is much more important”. Zameer is an extraordinary son who not only takes care of everything but manages each and everything in a good manner. Zameer I am proud of you said his mother with tearful eyes”.
Zameer’s wife told News Kashmir, who is an Advocate by Profession initially when my in-laws approached my parents for marriage proposal ,my father said that after getting confirmation from his relatives and friends (Which is a social custom in Kashmir) that everyone was like your daughter will be the luckiest as this guy is an extraordinary person who always takes care of everything. But as a wife I Feel very “proud of my husband”, really he is a man of integrity. He is a good son, a good father, a good brother more important a good husband. I am lucky enough to have him in my life. Zameer told News Kashmir that his family has been always his strength as his sister(name with held) has been always a main support to him whenever society used to be at odds against him. I am lucky to be a brother of her. She is best among all. My father who always being a strict member of my family never showed directly his love like a coconut shell hard outside but very soft inside. My brother and me are like two bodies and one soul . My first priority is always my family said Zameer.
Dr Suhaib Ashraf Bhat Applying black magic on Allah swt’s people is not a good thing so keep in your mind that you will get punished. In modern era people do not actually deplore due to his sorrow, but other people’s happiness is the main reason behind his deploring. So they try lots of black magic to hurt other people. Sometimes they get success, however they cannot continue success in it because Allah swt use to bless all his slaves. The practitioner of magic is the person who uses the shayaateen (devils) and gets close to the jinn by doing the things they like – such as sacrificing to them instead of to Allah swt, calling upon them alongside Allah swt, obeying them by disobeying Allah swt by committing zinaa, drinking wine, eating haraam things, neglecting prayer, covering himself with najaasaat (impure things) and staying in dirty places – until the shayaateen respond to what he asks them, with a gentle and kind approach, to do, such as harming the people against whom he uses his magic, causing division between a man and his wife, telling him some unseen things, and telling him about stolen items and where lost things are. Such a person is a mushrik and a kaafir, because he worships both Allah swt and the Shaytaan, which is major shirk (al-shirk al-akbar). So he is a kaafir, because Allah swt says (interpretation of the meaning); “Sulaymaan did not disbelieve, but the Shayaateen (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic” [al-Baqarah 2:102] “but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, ‘We are for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us).’” [al-Baqarah 2:102] It was also commanded that the practitioner of magic should be executed, because of the hadeeth: “The hadd (prescribed punishment) for the practitioner of magic is a blow with the sword (i.e., execution).” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1460; al-Daaraqutni, 3/114; al-Haakim, 4/360; al-Bayhaqi, 8/136; see al-Silsilah al-Da’eefah, 3/641, no. 1446) On this basis, he is a kaafir even if he prays, fasts, reads Qur’aan and makes du’aa’, because shirk cancels out all good deeds. Sihr is a serious crime and is one of the kinds of kufr. It is one of things with which people have been tested, in the past and currently, among the nations of the past, during the Jaahiliyyah and in this ummah. The more ignorance increases, the less there is knowledge and awareness of faith, the less attention the authorities pay to this matter – the more the practitioners of sihr and trickery increase and spread in the land, to take the people’s wealth and confuse them and do other things. When knowledge prevails and faith increases, and the Islamic authorities are powerful, the number of these evil people shrinks and they move from one land to another, seeking a place where their falsehood will be accepted and they will be able to engage in their trickery and corruption. The Qur’aan and Sunnah have described the kinds of sihr and the rulings on these matters. Sihr is so called because its means are hidden or secret, and because the practitioners of sihr deal with things in secret which enable them to perform illusions to confuse the people and deceive their eyes, and to cause them harm or steal their money, etc., in a secretive manner so that in most cases nobody realizes what is happening. Hence the last part of the night is called sahar, because at the end of the night people are unaware and they do not move about much. And the lungs are also called sahr, because they are hidden inside the body. According to sharee’ah, the meaning of sihr is what the magicians do to delude and confuse people, so that the one who is watching thinks that it is real when in fact it is not. As Allah swt said concerning the magicians of Pharaoh (interpretation of the meaning): “They said: ‘O Moosa! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?’ Moosa said: ‘Nay, throw you (first)!’ Then behold! their ropes and their sticks, by their magic, appeared to him as though they moved fast. So Moosa conceived fear in himself. We (Allah swt) said: ‘Fear not! Surely, you will have the upper hand. And throw that which is in your right hand! It will swallow up that which they have made. That which they have made is only a magician’s trick, and the magician will never be successful, to whatever amount (of skill) he may attain.’” [Ta-Ha 20:65-69] Sihr may involve things that the magician does when tying knots on which he blows, as is referred to in the Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning): “And from the evil of those who practise witchcraft when they blow in the knots”[al-Falaq 113:4] And it may involve other things which they manage to do through the shayaateen (devils), so they do things that may affect a man’s reason or make him sick; they may cause division between a man and his wife, resulting in her looking ugly to him, or by making her hate her husband or be put off by him. This is blatant kufr as the Qur’aan states. Allah swt says (interpretation of the meaning): “They followed what the Shayaateen (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaymaan (Solomon). Sulaymaan did not disbelieve, but the Shayaateen (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic” [al-Baqarah 2:102] Allah swt informs us that they (the shayaateen) committed kufr by teaching men magic. Then He says (interpretation of the meaning): “and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Haaroot and Maaroot, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, ‘We are for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us).’”[al-Baqarah 2:102] Then Allah swt says (interpretation of the meaning): “And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah swt’s Leave”[al-Baqarah 2:102] i.e., this magic and any harm that results from it is subject to the prior decree and will of Allah swt, for our Lord cannot be overwhelmed and nothing can happen in His Dominion against His Will. Nothing happens in this world or in the hereafter except by His prior decree and His great wisdom, as He wills. So some people may be tested by sihr, and others may be tested by sickness, or by being killed…etc. Allah swt is All-Wise in all that He wills and decrees, and in all that He prescribes for His slaves. Hence Allah swt says (interpretation of the meaning): “but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah swt’s Leave” [al-Baqarah 2:102]
The evils that come at the hands of the magicians or others do not happen because our Lord is ignorant, for He knows all things and nothing at all is hidden from Him, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): “Verily, Allah swt is the All-Knower of everything”[al-Anfaal 8:75] “that you may know that Allah swt has power over all things, and that Allâh surrounds all things in (His) Knowledge”[al-Talaaq 65:12] So Allah swt knows all things, and nothing happens in His Dominion that He does not will, but He has perfect wisdom and good aims in whatever He decrees should happen to people of honour or humiliation, People who have had experience with such situations have related that the following are among the signs of a person who is possessed by jinn (or Satan): Strong repulsion when hearing Quraan or Aathaan (call for prayers). Episodes of losing consciousness and/or epileptic attacks, especially when Quraan is recited for the possessed person. Frequent nightmares during sleep. Tendency to avoid people accompanied by out-of-the-norm behaviour. The jinn who possesses him might speak when Quraan is recited for the possessed person. Madness, as stated in the Quraan (interpretation of the meaning): “Those who devour usury will not stand except as stands one whom Satan by his touch hath driven to [epileptic] madness”2:275 As for a person struck by magic he might experience the following: Dislike of one’s spouse, as indicated in the Quraan by the following verse (interpretation of the meaning): “And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife…” (Al-Baqarah, 2:102). Different attitude in the house from that which is outside the house. For example, a person will feel that he is missing his family when is outside the house but when he goes home, love changes quickly to extreme hatred. Inability to have sexual intercourse with ones spouse. Frequent miscarriage for pregnant women. Sudden change in behaviour without obvious reason. Complete loss of appetite for food. Thinking or imagining one has done something when in reality one has not. Sudden obedience and/or love for a particular person. It should be noted that if a person experiences some of the above symptoms this does not necessarily mean that he is either possessed by a jinn or struck by black magic. It might be due to physiological or psychological reasons. As for curing this condition the following steps are recommended: Putting ones trust in Allah with sincere belief that He is the only cure for everything. Reading Quraan and known supplications expressing seeking refuge, the most important and effective of which is sura 113 and 114, Al-Falaq and Al-Naas, which were used to cure the Prophet himself. Surah 112, Al-Ikhlaas, is recommended along with them, as well as the opening chapter of the Quraan, Al-Fatihah. To cure black magic some have successfully used seven lote-tree leaves. The leaves should be crushed, then mixed them with water enough for taking a bath. The following verses from the Quraan are then recited: verse Al-Kursi (2:255), surah Al-Kafiroon (109), surah 112, 113, 114; the verses which mention magic, which are: in surah Al-Baqarah (2:102), Al-Araaf (7:117-119), Yunus (10:79-82), and Taha (20:65-69). The possessed person drinks some of the water, and the rest is used to give him a bath. Removing the elements of magic as was done by the Prophet when he was struck by black magic by a Jewish man called Lubaid Ben Al-Aasim. Eating seven Aaliya Al-Barniy dates (among the dates of Al-Madinah) first thing in the morning; if not possible, any dates will suffice, by the will of Allah swt.Cupping–removing excess blood. suhaibbhatt85@gmail.com
High Chicken Rates in Kashmir Chicken is among the most used food items in Kashmir. It also with sheep or goat meat forms important part of the non vegetarian diet of Kashmir. The fluctuations in the rates of chicken especially on the upper side is a matter of concern . The masses are concerned that the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCSCA) has failed to regulate the rate list for poultry which has led to overpricing of chicken in the market, leaving consumers high and dry. Earlier, the government fixed Rs 125 per kg for broiler chicken in the market.Since past few days the chicken rates have gone up from Rs 120 kilogram to Rs 170 in matter of just few days . Lack of Hatcheries in responsible for dependency of Kashmir on other parts of country for chicken and eggs . According to the import bill of Jammu and Kashmir, the value of poultry and egg imports to the erstwhile state was estimated at 2,000 crore rupees annually. This is a potentially huge market that could be captured by local farmers but locally reared chickens are more expensive than those imported from outside the Valley, thereby limiting local farmers to the role of merely filling the gaps in the supply. The lack of hatcheries in Kashmir according to ground voices has forced local farmers to import chicks from north Indian states, like Haryana. One hopes that the authorities will take all the measures to control chicken rates in Kashmir.
News kashmir Analysis Bhartiya Janta Party has achieved Landslide victory in recent State elections of India , winning four out of five states including the all important state of Uttar Pradesh. Aam Admi Party has sweeped the Punjab State with great majority. The BJP is set to retain power in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and the party has attained pole position in Goa and Manipur, where it is on course to form the next government. In Punjab, the AAP secured an impressive win, decimating the ruling Congress. A day after the BJP secured victory in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now shifted his focus to the poll-bound Gujarat and held a mega roadshow in Ahmedabad on Friday. On the other hand , AAP has marked a tectonic shift in national politics, winning 92 of 117 seats in Punjab with a vote share of 42.1 per cent, up from 20 seats and a vote share of 23.7 per cent last time. Congress is facing much trouble .From running the country in 2004 and even being in power in nine states in 2014, the Congress is worse off than it was 24 years ago — it is ruling in only two states, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. From Himalayas To Sea, BJP Has Been Blessed By All 4 States,” Says PM Modi . For the first time in three decades, a party has been re-elected in UP, India’s most politically important state, which is a bellwether for national elections.Important to mention , that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in his celebratory speech in Lucknow, gave maximum emphasis to better law and order, beneficial schemes for the poor, housing facilities and congratulated the voters for rejecting dynastic politics. He repeatedly invoked schemes for the poor, free ration, and better security for women. The beach state of Goa also threw many surprises .Overcoming anti-incumbency, the BJP on Thursday emerged as the single largest party in Goa by winning 20 assembly seats, just one shy of the halfway mark, and quickly enlisted the support of regional outfit MGP and three Independent MLAs to form its government for a third consecutive term in the state. The tally of 20 was an improvement from 2017, when the BJP had won 13 seats in the 40-member assembly, where the simple majority mark is 21.Undoubtedly the verdict 2022 has gone in favour of ruling BJP making it much harsh for opposition to challenge BJP in 2024 .
IN ISLAM DOING AN ENTIRE PARDHA BY MUSLIM WOMEN IS AN ACT OF WORSHIP
FAROOQ AHMAD BAKLOO( The Writer is A PHD STUDENT) Since a month after the episode of Karnataka where some Muslim girls were not allowed to enter the school because of a violation of the school dress code. After that, the issue has become a national sensation and nourishment to those Media channels that repeatedly are a forerunner in unfurling the poison against the Muslims and the entire Muslim community. These news channels are doing discussions with a high velocity on the issue of whether doing pardha is in Islam or not. These channels tried to endorse or cultivate the opinion that doing Pardha by Muslim women is a sign of suppression and a tool of male domination in their households. During these debates, some participants even called that there is no word Hajib in the noble Quran and some misquoted the verses and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to cook their bogus argument. In reply to these faulty arguments about the Pardha of Muslim women presented and posed by controlled media. Some Muslim sections tried to respond to these posed undesirable questions. Those who are presenting the questions about the Pardha did not know the status and significance of doing pardha in Islam. To cite the example the Muslim girls most often said that doing Pardha is our choice and identify some say it is our culture. However, one must know that the Pardha of Muslim girls is an act of worship it is no choice, it is obligatory as it is a commandment in the noble Quran by Allah. The reason why I said this worship, the noble Quran says “I did not create Jin, or mankind, except to worship me. (Al Quran 51: 56). Here the word worship has a comprehensive meaning it means every action and saying that Allah loves and is pleased is included in the worship. According to the Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah ( d. 728H ) worship is a comprehensive term that brings together everything that Allah loves and is pleased with from actions or sayings both inward and outward ( Majmu al-Fatawa 10/49).According to Ibn Kathir (d. 774H) rahimahullah worship is obedience to Allah by acting what Allah commands and abandoning what Allah forbids (Tafsir al Quran al- Adhim). From the above definitions of both great scholars of Islam, it is crystal clear that worship is obeying the orders of Allah through the way Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught his companions. Therefore, the matter of Pardha of Women in Islam is undoubtedly the instruction of Allah mentioned in (An-Nur, 24) and (Al – Ahzab, 33 ) of the noble Quran. Allah says in Chapter 24 An-Nur verse 31 as:And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity and not reveal their adornments except what normally appears. Let them draw their veils over their chests, and not reveal their hidden adornments except to their husbands, their fathers, their father–in–law, their sons, their stepsons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons or sisters sons their fellow women, those bondwomen in their possession, male attendants with no desire, or children who are still unaware of women nakedness. (Translation Saheeh International Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the clear Quran).Another place where the Noble Quran commands the believing women to cover their entire body is chapter 33 Al – Ahzab verse, 59 as:O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their cloaks over their bodies. In this way, it is more likely that they will be recognized as virtuous and not be harassed. (Translation Saheeh International Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the clear Quran).Hence, it is evident that Pardha is an obligatory ruling and if anybody obeys this ruling as shown teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is doing the act of worship and fulfilling the commandment of Allah. THE WORD HIJAB IN THE NOBLE QURAN: Mostly the Word Hijab is famously associated with the covering of the body but the Quran does not use the term Hijab in this covering body context. We Muslims significantly used the word Hajib as equal to the Burka and regard the Hajib and Burka as identical. However, the word Hijab which is mentioned seven times in the Noble Quran is not used in this context. If we see the word Hajib according to the terminology of the noble Quran the Word Hijab refers to a curtain, barrier and in all seven places, it is used as a curtain and barrier as shown below:· Al – Ahzab Chapter 33, Verse 53. · Al- Mutaffin chapter 83 verse 15. · Al – Araf Chapter 7 verse 46. · Sad Chapter 38, verse 32. · Fussilat chapter 41, verse 5. · Ash-Shura chapter 45, verse 51. · Al – Isra chapter 17 verse 45. · Maryam chapter 19 verse 17. From the above verses of seven places of the noble Quran, it is clear that the word Hijab is used to define a barrier, and curtain. It is a big slap for those who are advocating that there is no word Hijab in the noble Quran and some ignorant people say that it is an Urdu word. These guys have never seen the noble Quran in their eyes. They only know how to spread the venom against the Islam and Muslim community. However, the Hijab that the Muslims used as the garment by which the woman has covered acts as a barrier and protects her from the unwanted gaze of the people. QURANIC WORDS FOR THE COVERING OF THE BODY OF THE MUSLIM WOMENAs far as the covering of the body of the Muslim women is concerned the noble Quran instructs the believers in two places in An-Nur chapter 24 verse 31 and Al- Ahzab chapter 33 and verse 59. In both places, the noble Quran used two different words for covering the body. In An-Nur the word Khimaar and in Al- Ahzab the word is Jalbaab.SCHOLARS AND THE MEANING OF KHIMAAR According to ibn Kathir: “Khumur is the plural of khimaar which means something that covers, and is what is used to cover the head. This is what is known among the people as a khimaar.”Shaykh Muhammad al-Munajjid defines “Khimaar comes from the word khimaar, the root meaning of which is to cover. For example, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Khammiru aaniyatakum (cover your vessels).” Everything that covers something else is called its khimaar. But in common usage khimaar has come to be used as a name for the garment with which a woman covers her head; in some cases, this does not go against the linguistic meaning of khimaar. Some of the fuqaha has defined it as that which covers the head and the neck. The difference between the jilbaab and the khimaar is that the jilbaab is something that covers all of a woman’s body, whilst the khimaar, in general, is something with which a woman covers her head.”Shaykh Muhammad Nasiruddin Albani: “The word khimaar linguistically means only a head covering. Whenever it is mentioned in general terms, this is what is intended.Imam Abu Abdullah Qurtubi: “Women in those days used to cover their heads with the khimaar, throwing its ends upon their backs. This left the neck and the upper part of the chest bare, along with the ears, in the manner of the Christians. Then Allah commanded them to cover those parts with the khimaar.”Ibn Kathir: “‘Draw their khumur to cover their bosoms’ means that they should wear the khimaar in such a way that they cover their chests so that they will be different from the women of the jahiliyyah who did not do that but would pass in front of men with their chests uncovered and with their necks, forelocks, hair, and earrings uncovered.”.The dictionary of classical Arabic, Aqrab al-Mawarid: “[The word khimaar refers to] all such pieces of cloth which are used to cover the head. It is a piece of cloth that is used by a woman to cover her head. From the statements of these Islamic scholars, Khimaar is the garment that covers the head, neck, shoulders, and chest of the women. It is the obligatory dress commandment by Allah in the noble Quran for the believing women.MEANING OF JALABAABThe Noble Quran commands to the believing women to cover their entire body are chapter 33 Al – Ahzab verse, 59 as:O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their cloaks over their bodies. In this way, it is more likely that they will be recognized as virtuous and not be harassed. In this verse, the noble Quran mentions the word Jalbaab The word “jalabaab” is the plural of “jalbaab”. This ayah states an instruction for Muslim women to wear a garment which Allah SWT has called “jilbab.”The jilbab is the outer garment, mantle, or cloak. It is derived from the word tajalbaba, which means to clothe. Jilbab is the outer sheet or covering that a woman wraps around her on top of her garments to cover herself from head to toe. It hides her body completely” (Lisan al-Arab )JILBAAB AND THE HADITHS OF PROPHET (PBUH)Beyond this, the hadiths record how the sahabiyat (r.a) went about obeying Surah al-Ahzab ayah 59 when it was revealed:Sunan Abu Dawud Book 32 #4090. Narrated Umm Salama, Umm al-Mu’minin: When the verse, “That they should draw their jilbaab close around them” was revealed, the women of Ansar came out as if they had crows over their heads by wearing jilbaab. And there is more even than this. Some of the women remained in seclusion and never went out so that they did not own the garment called “jilbaab”. The hadiths record that the Prophet (sAas) commanded the women to come out for the Eid gathering, and what he said about the issue of the garment called “jilbaab”:Sahih Bukhari Book 8 #347. Narrated Umm Atiyya: We were ordered to bring out our menstruating women and screened women to the religious gatherings and invocation of the Muslims on the two Eid festivals. These menstruating women were to keep away from the musalla. A woman asked, “O Messenger of Allah! What about one who does not have a jilbaab?”. He said, “Let her borrow the jilbaab of her companion.CONCLUSION:From the noble Quran and authentic Sunnah, it is apparent that covering the entire body from head to toe. This is an act of worship for the Muslim women. By doing this act Allah is pleased to those Muslim believing women who perform this action as shown by the authentic Sunnaha of the Prophet (peace be upon him). All the scholars are agreed on this, that covering the entire body by Muslim women is obligatory. And if any Muslim sister is not doing the complete pardha she is not obeying the order of Allah. The point of disagreement among the scholars is on the obligatory status of face veil and hand cover. However, these scholars also state Muslim women must cover the entire body including the face and hands. Besides this, the word Hijab in the noble Quran is used to refer to the barrier while for the complete coverage of the body of the believing women the word khimaar and Jalbaab is used in the noble Quran. The Khimaar, is an garment covering the head, neck shoulders, and the chest. it is the dress that is mandatory and obligatory when the believing women is at home with Muharrams. The Jalbaab is used when the believing women went out to the market, school, or any other public place. She must cover by the the entire body by an outer garment including the face and hands. The scholars defined the Jabaab as Sheikh Abdul Aziz ibn Baaz rahimahullah the previous grand Mufti of Saudia Arabia stated that Jalbaab is the outer garment covering all the body except eyes. Molana Maududi rahimahullah defined jilbaab as an outer garment covering the face. Sheikh Yousuf Qaradawi hafzahullah explains the Jalbaab as a loose outer garment and the sheik Nasir ul din Albani rahimahullah says the Jalbaab as an outer garment that is thick and opaque and covers the clothing under it and the women form. Apart from this some of the untaught people who say that covering the entire body by Muslim women is a sign of backwardness and suppression, those people must understand that covering the entire body including face and hands is not backwardness. Nevertheless, it is the state of undress which linked with the backwardness and Stone Age.Modernization has nothing to do with the clothing of the person as modernization means the emergence of new ideas, inventions, and discoveries that have benefited the entire humanity. We see how the Muslim women who are strict ardent of parda are attaining good positions at the international and national level. Instructions related to the covering the body of women especially hair is also found in other religions as well like Judaism and Christianity. In Judaism, it is called (Kissui Rosh). But it is some anti-Islamic forces only target Muslim women because of their religious identity and their faith
Report Each and Every Incident : SSP Rakesh Balwal
According to latest report, the National Crime Record Bureau has said that J&K has been over 10% increase in Crime against women during 2020.There are three types of violences. 1.Physical Abuse in Relationship (beating, rape). 2. Economic Abuse meaning. 3.Emotional Abuse meaning. While talking to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar Rakesh Balwal in an exclusive interview Farzana Mumtaz and Mir Sabeen Gulrez talk on diverse issues faced by women. Excerpts : According to survey there is rise in domestic violence during Pandemic even people are very much aware and People nowadays are very much digital as even they know there rights but still lack why? SSP : First of all we have set guidelines and contact numbers like….. Whosoever is suffering through violence can report us as soon as possible to us. You (reporter) said that there is rise in cases to some extent it is true but there is another aspect that we shouldn’t deny is that nowadays people are reporting immediately to their nearest police stations. For these cases we have established stations. From our level our first priority is to take care of the Complaintant but for that they have to come forward and do report to us. We have to understand that our society is patriarchal society and there are always such cases but still then how they do report to us. Emphasis have always given even on smallest complaints which comes to our way. It’s not like we left her on God’s mercy. We see the situation and even after that we take action as usually small quarels lead to bigger Catastrophes. For example If we receive a complaint that some girl is being stalked we never leave the accused one as later on it will be a big issue. Like earlier too we(Police) used to take actions immediately. But unfortunately at that time social awareness was not like as we have these days. Now we(Police) also give it in a Press Release that like at this date and time we receive a complaint from this person as he has filled a complaint for her missing daughter. When we recovered that abducted girl but we hide her identity but to make people aware of this we do give a Press Release of that. But those who are involved in this heinous crime. We cover their faces but we give their identity who actually are they. Our first preference is that society should know these people who are in such wrong activities. You can even see how we(Police) people are dealing with drug peddlers as we even are not sparing them. In these last two months we have registered 41 FIR’s this year so far while as last year we have registered 78FIR’s.Even we have shown even smallest recoveries so far to the people. As we have to keep these things on record. Those who are in such wrong activities should be publicly shown to people, but here we just hide their faces whenever we publish their photos but surely their names should be known to the society. In South India we usually receive very rare cases. Before this I was posted in North East there also we usually receive very rare cases but here why there is a rise just because we are living in a patriarchal society we should know that whenever a lady gives birth to a son whole family celebrates but at the same time when she gives birth to a girl child they felt sorry for her. Whenever society have such a strong patriarchal norms even though in Islam there is equality but even though society is baised. It is necessary society should at least get changed their mind setup towards this menace if not these things will usually happen. See our youth don’t have much awareness these days like people in Jammu, Delhi goes to shopping malls, PVR’s etc to hangouts but here our youth is taking refuge in Narcotics. In this mess they usually do these wrong activities.Like if the same youth is at home and is addict. His wife will stop him and he will try to get refrained from these things. Even we have received such complaints where a husband has sold his wives gold to get the drug’s from the market. If she resist to give it to him then he will start beating or other violences to her and that is also part of violence. Yesterday, I gave a statement that 90% of the crimes in Srinagar are happening because of the narcotics. And for all this menace we have assured that proper Investigation should be done, proper FIR’s should be registered and these people should be taken to task. Is emotional abuse a crime in India? No emotional abuse is not a crime but nowadays Supreme Court is having a second thought about this. Norms are changing as per society and similarly laws should reflect the norms of thr society at that time. Saying that there is a rise in Crime is not a right statement but the right statement is this that Police have taken cognizance of all such reports that used to come in their way. He just see wherever there comes an evidence in any case that some kind of Physical Abuse has happened we immediately go for FIR. It never happened before. We have women’s Police Station in Solina. Only ladies are there, this is because whenever any lady or girl come there with a complaint she should feel comfortable with the staff. While narrating her ordeal. What is a women’s right of residence under the Domestic violence Act? Marriage is a special bond between the two where as per the norms a girl has to stay with her in-laws. Rest in a civil matter. We (police) come into the picture where there is physical abuse or when there is some Harrasment Or some tangible evidence that this episode has occurred. Then at that time a girl or her family can approach us through phone Or there are other means of communication also. Marriage law as per Hindus or Muslim’s the domicile of the girl is staged by civil laws, we are not in picture but if there is some tangible evidence where she is abused or something like that we come into picture . Then we do take care that nothing wrong should happen with her. But usually we don’t go into civil matters. What has been your experience with women who call in for help with domestic violence situations? Our first step is we listen the whole story first then immediately I refer that case to our nearest station they call the other side and if the girls parents feel that there daughter is in trouble. The first preference is that policeman ask the girls in-laws to sign a Good Behavior Bond. And after that the girls parents get a sigh of relief. After that if there is some tangible evidence we register FIR. Women often overlook red flags, thinking they can change the man once they are married to him. What would you like to tell such women? Don’t keep everything under the carpet report immediately as soon as possible. When a person can’t be good in initial how can he be good after mirrage. Your message to people? Report each and every incident as soon as possible. As small things create havoc always. We shouldn’t keep everything under the carpet. Don’t feel that social stigma will gonna help you but we(Police) can help them at every step. You are my daughter’s, sisters, mothers please dont be silent stand for yourself as it’s the need of the hour.
International Women’s Day is an important celebration. As a matter of fact, International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. It is also a focal point in the women’s rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. Spurred on by the universal female suffrage movement that had begun in New Zealand, IWD originated from labor movements in North America and Europe during the early 20th century. The earliest version was purportedly a “Women’s Day” organized by the Socialist Party of America in New York City February 28, 1909. This inspired German delegates at the 1910 International Socialist Women’s Conference to propose “a special Women’s Day” be organized annually, albeit with no set date. The theme of International Women’s Day is very burning in the year 2022.IWD 2022 campaign theme: #BreakTheBias Imagine a gender equal world.A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.A world where difference is valued and celebrated.Together we can forge women’s equality.Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.Without a doubt, Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day.We can break the bias in our communities. We hope that the entire world and humanity at large takes a pledge to make world a better place for women .

Tell us a bit about your childhood days ?
I spend my childhood in the picturesque Nanital studied at St Mary’s Convent/ Ramnee. My father was an Engineer and principal at the Engineering Polytechnic at Nanital. My mother was an athlete & an artist, a teacher at All Saints School. Most of my childhood was spent in mountains and as a child I was curious, creative and active. I loved to draw and make handicrafts, posters for the school fete and birthday invitation cards, my father would encourage me to build little hobby planes and picture cupboards. While Archies was my favourite comic book, my favourite magazine was Popular Science. I enjoyed treking and nature walks, collecting different leaves and creating art on them, overall my childhood was full of life Alhamdulillah..amid nature. Tell a bit about your academic life ? As a child, I always wanted to become an architect, and my favourite subjects were Maths & Arts. I was a pretty average student until high school, Didn’t qualify for Science stream so opted for commerce stream in 11th class along with computer science and art as my subjects and topped the class. Was keen to go to National Institute of Design however my Father didn’t allow me since it had a common hostel accommodation for boys & girls. Much to my disappointment I was packed off to Aligarh Muslim University for Bachelors in Fine Arts as Majors along with Psychology & English. Now that I am a parent myself and look back it was probably the best decision. AMU not only gave me a strong academic foundation, it served as a great platform to explore and hone my skills from cultural and public speaking to badminton and Tarkwondo. Made friends from all walks of life and built special relationships and bonds for a lifetime. In 1991 I completed my graduation and topped the Arts faculty. I was among four students selected for the republic day parade by Narasimha Rao, Hon’ Prime Minster. My first National recognition at College was for the National Poster Competition on peace that I won with the headline “Know God. Know Peace. No God. No Peace”. Which made me want to pursue Art for a purpose. Although some day I wish to go back to the brush as part of my retirement plan 🙂 I went on to do my specialization after that in Commercial/applied art from South Delhi polytechnic in Delhi. Did my training as an Illustrator with a Children’s Publication.
What about start of professional career and overall journey of professional life ? I started as a designer in the well known, Archies cards and gifts company to create designs for greeting cards. At Archies I really learnt the meaning of quality. My first artwork was torn almost 7 times by Ashokji the production incharge until I got it right. I worked with them for a while and then moved on to join Nirula’s as part of the Design & Marketing team headed by Samir Kuckreja , as a visualizer. That was my first step into the world of marketing and communications and the Nirulas Birthday Club was probably the first Loyalty & Rewards program that I helped manage. It’s only now that I realise how it helped engage its customers to drive loyalty and repeats by offering its members free scoop on their Birthdays and also infusing trials. My journey from brush to mouse began in 1997 when I moved to Network Programs, an American company. I had no idea what I would do in a software company. Internet was in its infancy and I learnt pretty much on the job with self discovery, teamwork and application on the various digital assignments. I made my first website for Telegraph India newspaper and ITH travel house, Buisness Standard and my first elearning assignment was for Telstra Australia for their Global offshore Data Products. Today I admire Dr Gopi from Bell Labs/ Chairman Network Programs & Lotus Interworks vision of bringing in designers into a Software Company. He knew it would probably be difficult for creative souls working in boring cubicles so gave us the freedom to do up the Multimedia Division office space creatively. With great colleagues and mentors like Sarkar Sir, Hasan Kabir, Alok and other colleagues who taught selflessly Network Programs was really the foundation of my Tech journey..from coding to research to quality control, brainstorming, learning new softwares to even the basics of wireframes, file naming conventions and version control, I learnt pretty much at Network Programs. Together we built thegreatindianbazaar.com, but I guess it was too early in time 🙂 A few years later I was called for an interview to FCS Software solutions and was asked the usual question; “where do you see yourself 5 years from now?” and I replied “ either at Disney or Microsoft”. Dilip Kumar , MD & Chairman at FCS smiled at the rather honest response and asked me “Would you rather work for a Microsoft or Build one?” and it got me thinking for a few seconds before replying “ Build one” and happily accepted the joining offer. While at FCS, we had a team visit us for a pitch to create an online agency, little did I know it was the hunt for the startup team for India’s first online Advertising & Marketing agency; BrandQuiver started by WPP & Times Internet headed by Suhel Seth and Marketing Guru Shunu Sen. Joined them as Creative Head and worked on various clients like lacoste, Barista, Philips. My first exposure to the fast paced advertising world..with the Dot com bust I remember being on a panel for discussion on .com or .gone 😀 ..championing .com I moved back to FCS and went on to set up their e-learning, interactive communications & digital consultancy practice. Grew it to a team of 150+ with Digital Centers of Excellence for F500 companies like BestBuy, Canon, Dominos, GE amongst others. The experience taught me the very basics of Learning Principles of Instructional Design and figured out how every individual is unique and how therefore learning needs to be not only ‘personalised’ it needs to be fun too considering different learner types. For the first time we started the use of Gamification to build interactive programs. Created key differentiators of Rapid Building using reusable learning objects to help reduce time and cost. I loved the experience at FCS and the freedom and support it gave me with my new born in 2003. Was privileged to have been given one of the Directors cabins for the baby’s cot and maid to help me continue work in one of my recent meetings Dilip jokingly mentioned how when he was on calls people would ask him are you at home or work when they would hear the child cry. I can’t thank him enough for this as it helped me keep going. A few years later I received a call from Anita, HR head with Dr Gopi’s companies saying Dr Gopi’s looking for you. Flew down to meet him in Los Angeles to understand his vision to create interactive books for Children and went on to join InterSolutions as Chief Creative Officer. In 2005 I got bitten by the entrepreneurial bug and I co-founded my first company with Vineet Narang, Xceed IT Solutions. Focussed on e learning and digital products for US & Canadian companies. Successfully delivered over 2000 hours of AICC/ SCORM compliant multilingual learning content for companies like Red vector, American Health and RFID Technologies..from soft skills to technical/ software Trainings to & compliance and regulatory. After having moved from a comfortable corporate salaried environment to a DIY entrepreneurial journey was filled with challenges. After global meltdown in 2008 we started Mobiquest. An enterprise Mobility company. Some of the key products for SFA for field force with its largest implementations for Abbott Pharma was an industry first. Our strategic Partnerships with Airtel and Blackberry resulted in some great implementations for their enterprise customers. Some of the products were much ahead of time and didn’t take off welll because of poor 2G connectivity issues like Airtel MediaMate/ mobiLIVE a platform that allowed live video shoots and streamed to Central Server without allowing the video to be stored on the device. The app helped reporters sending live reports in an encrypted format and was a great real for freelance journalists. Some of the dear projects was in the Telemedicine domain with Care Hospitals Hyderabad, WHO, National Council of Medical Research and Apollo Research; to provide initial medical care to rural areas with the help of health workers who were trained to use the multilingual app on Nokia devices. Our flagship product m’Loyal emerged as a great spinoff being a disruptive Platform that bridged the gap of accessibility and usage of Omnichannel Billing data to consumers, helping convert Purchase Data to knowledge and knowledge to insights and insights to Action in Real time thereby driving “Repeat Sales” Our journey with Paytm began in 2017, Vijay Shekhar saw great value of Loyalty being a key driver to grow businesses. That’s where the meaning of BIG and scaleup really began and we’re working to keep pace with the contagious energy that stirs each Paytmer. With over 130 million registered members, for over a decade now the Platform ; Paytm m’Loyal emerges as the largest Loyalty & Rewards real-time Fulfillment ecosystem. Some of the popular Loyalty Programs rollouts include Baskin Robins, HP Pay, INC5, GoodEarth, One Apollo, INOX Cinemas. From a consumer perspective, the loyalty app allows consumers to view an interactive digital membership card, earn points, see his points and get digital membership and for companies it is getting data of customer or consumer in much advanced way , it gives them intelligent know how of consumer. It personalises and automates marketing. It converts data into insight and insight into action . Offers are send according to customers choice and keeps close touch with him or her. By this very relevant messages are send to customers.Paytm Mloyal or the my company name Mobiquest is my biggest sucess.
What is the future outlook of Mobiquest?
We would like to globally scale up the Paytm m’Loyal Platform and let the retailers/ Enterprises world over benefit from its proven capabilities. We want to cover scores of medium and small enterprises and be a global leader in the Saas Mobile Loyalty domain.
How do you feel about current status of education of Indian muslim women ?
Times are fast evolving and over the last few decades, you can see that Indian Muslim women have progressed well globally and created a niche in almost every vertical domain be it Engineering, liberal Arts & Literature, Pharma, Aviation, Civil Services. Families should continue to encourage provide equal opportunities to their daughters to pursue their aspirations, inculcate free thinking with a strong grounding and value system, to be financially independent and raise responsible future leaders & mothers to take the country towards the next level.
What values in life you would advise people to follow to be successful ?
The 4Ps of success as I see it begin with Prayer followed by Perseverance, Patience and Passion. Staying grounded to values and ethics go a long way in establishing relationships be it personal, business or customers.Transparency and integrity help establish trust, from a business perspective ’easy to do business with’ Valuing relationships beginning with Parents to the others along the journey and Gratitude is always rewarding.Learning never ends. “Rabbi Zidni Ilma” / “O Lord increase me in beneficial Knowledge “. So continue to aspire, inspire , innovate and dream big. Drop Social Cliches and biases for a healthy more peaceful world. Live and let live.Introspect, unlearn and relearn..constantly working on competing with your own self and improving..doing better. Life wasn’t meant to be a bed of roses alone, the thorns and trials are part of the journey. Don’t ever give up.Keep Going and remember “ you have never done enough”Rethink life. Rethink your potential. Rethink your blessings. Rethink the purpose of your life. Make the remaining journey more meaningful, enough for you to leave behind a legacy that benefits you and others, which you continue to redeem years after you’re gone. What impact of Coronavirus you see on our lives ?
No doubt loss of near and dear ones was catastrophic for many families. The Coronavirus pandemic taught us values of family life and relations, in this hectic and fast life where we hardly have any time for each other. It introduced in us self-introspection. Any more things you would like to share ?I’d like to appeal to the people of my country and globally to all of humanity is to drop social cliches and prejudices against Islam, against my Muslim Sisters specially this whole thing against Hijab. Live and let live. Go research. Form your own opinions. Respect the freedom and free will given by God to do what each individual wants and to be what they want to be.On my future plans, I see a gap in India being non Arabic as a Native Language community for good Quran Recitation Academies, I would like to start or help setup one some day for children & women in different parts of the country on a blended learning format. I intend to someday be able to use gamification to teach Children the meaning & purpose of life in a fun self exploratory way. I have had the opportunity to be a part of the open source Oxygen/ Med Tech community Oxikit/Pillar Tribe during the Pandemic and after a challenging Covid recovery and am glad that my efforts helped to train, inspire the Tech/ Manufacturing/building community to manufacture locally and contribute towards building a Self Reliant Country inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. I’m not sure how yet, but I hope to contribute towards environment conservation and work to help build a greener planet. What is your Message ?
Let’s together strive to give meaning to our lives as individuals and as humanity learn to coexist with each other with love and kindness and appreciate diversity and establish peace such that when we return to our Lord, we have no regrets and redeem the rewards collected in this journey of life. Would like end with Iqbal sher “Khudi ko kar buland itna ki har taqdeer se pahlay khuda banday se khud poocha, bata teri Raza Kya hai”

Jumping from a cliff of the temple, diving into the water would be a daily exercise and fun. Going to Eidgah with others girls on every Eid was a regular feature of childhood as there was no Hindu/Muslim rituals restriction from my family’s sides (conception of Eid being a Muslim festival), till we shifted to Baramulla. News kashmir Exclusive The number of missing children in Jammu and Kashmir, and in almost all the parts of country call for an immediate action against heinous network of human trafficking. The missing of a child destroys entire family and means life long pain . The recent missing of child from Awoora Kupwara has caused tremendous pain to his family and society .Recently, Former Rajya Sabha member and senior leader, Mir Mohammad Fayaz announced an additional reward of Rs 2 lacs for those who give any information about missing child from Awoora area of Kupwara district. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mir Fayaz wrote, “I feel & share the pain of this missing child. In this time of distress, apart from District Police Kupwara reward, I, hereby, announce an additional amount of Rs 2 lacs from my side, if anyone gives information about his whereabouts.” Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din also visited the home of an 8-year-old boy. He was accompanied by SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas; concerned DDC Member and BDC Chairperson, besides, officers. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner expressed sympathy with the family of the missing child and said that the administration is standing shoulder to shoulder with them in tracing out their child. He appealed to the people to support the police and administration in finding the child. The data on missing children in Jammu and Kashmir is worrisome to say the least .National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) data has revealed that 627 children have gone missing in Jammu and Kashmir by 2020. They include 350 boys and 277 girls. In 2020 alone, 230 children including 167 girls and 63 boys went missing in Jammu and Kashmir. The NCRB data suggested that the recovery rate of the missing children in Jammu and Kashmir is a mere 29.2 percent. We have many heart rending examples in this regard. Mehran from Srinagar , three-and-a-half-year-old boy who went missing outside his home 13 years ago and remains untraceable, causing much trauma to his family and parents . The country level data of missing children is also painful. Every eight minutes, a child goes missing in India. According to the annual National Crime Record Bureau’s (NCRB) “Crime in India” 2019 report, a total of 73,138 children were reported missing last year. The report also states that the number of missing children has increased by 8.9% in 2019. The need of the hour is that in the entire country a strong mechanism is brought into place that crushes evil forces behind missing of our children. Missing of a child is a worst catastrophe for family.
